<p><b>Location: </b>St Luke's Catholic College (Secondary) - Marsden Park</p><p dir="ltr" style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #0000ff">PEDAGOGY COACH</span></strong></p> <p dir="ltr" style="text-align: center"><span style="color: #0000ff">This role attracts a 3 point paid allowance with a mix of teaching, coaching and release.- training and support provided&nbsp;</span></p> <p dir="ltr" style="text-align: center"><span style="color: #0000ff">Permanent position</span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr"><span style="color: #0000ff"><strong>The College Community&nbsp;</strong></span></p> <p>Having commenced in 2017 with 86 students across Kindergarten to Year 6, St Luke’s at Marsden Park is a next generation learning community within the Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta (CEDP). As a ‘next generation Catholic Learning Community’ we are designing and establishing the ‘new normal’ for preschool to post school learning in an environment characterised by a flexible, stage based curriculum which nurtures and grows faith-filled, curious children to become creative contributors and innovative problem solvers for a changing world. In 2022 we now enrol over 1600 students from Kindergarten to Year 12 in addition to 59 children per day in our long day centre with our first HSC cohort completing their studies in 2023.</p> <p dir="ltr"><span style="color: #0000ff"><strong>Role Outline</strong></span></p> <p dir="ltr">Ultimately responsible to the Principal Leader, a team of pedagogy coaches is accountable to Assistant Principals for co-leading the learning priorities across the Schools of Leadership and Entrepreneurship. With the skills to lead teachers to transform practice, pedagogy coaches model effective high yield strategies which enable and support each student's engagement with learning outcomes and the St Luke’s 6 Pillars of Learning. This is achieved through a commitment and dedication of the Pedagogy Coach in co-planning, co-teaching, co-debriefing and co-reflecting with teachers as individuals and in both small and large groups. The Pedagogy Coach:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">collaboratively leads, mentors and coaches teachers to design flexible curriculum and contemporary pedagogies;&nbsp;</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">takes responsibility to enhance learning outcomes which enhance the social skills and enterprise skills required for a changing world; and,</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">builds teacher capacity to:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">provide relevant and authentic student centred learning;</li> <li dir="ltr">Improve student learning through focussed, in-situ teacher professional learning;</li> <li dir="ltr">effectively use data to facilitate learning which meets each student at their point of challenge; and,</li> <li dir="ltr">ensure alignment with the School Vision.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><span style="color: #0000ff"><strong>Requirements of the Role</strong></span> The pedagogy coach will:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Support the Principal in the ministry of leadership, reflecting the mission of the Church by modelling respectful relationships with colleagues, students and families.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Use research and data to think and plan strategically.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Maintain a relational approach to team building through collaboration and critical thinking.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Foster an innovative teacher mindset which supports student-centred learning.</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Model highly accomplished teaching using contemporary pedagogy and flexible curriculum design.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Possess high level communication skills and interpersonal skills including empathy and confidentiality.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Undertake professional learning as a connected educator who contributes to system learning in a global world.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Support teachers in the use of digital technology to enhance learning.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Contribute to a culture which enables imagination, creativity and innovation.</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><span style="color: #0000ff"><strong>Functions of the Role</strong></span></p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Lead, mentor and coach teachers, both ‘in situ’ and during professional learning meetings to provide experiential inquiry learning experiences where students exercise choice to demonstrate knowledge and understanding.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Initiate and engage in professional discussions with colleagues in a range of forums to evaluate practice to improve educational outcomes of students.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Establish, develop and implement effective high yield pedagogical strategies.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Lead professional learning dialogue by facilitating opportunities for teams of teachers to meet, plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate learning.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Support the Principal and other senior leaders to ensure programming, assessment and reporting documentation for Year 7-12 is compliant and adheres to Diocesan and NESA requirements.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Other duties as directed by the Principal.</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><span style="color: #0000ff"><strong>Please note</strong></span></p> <p dir="ltr">Due to the fact that we live in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) world, the nature, priorities and placement of this role, in consultation with the person serving in the role, may change over time.</p> <p dir="ltr"><span style="color: #0000ff"><strong>Further note</strong></span></p> <p dir="ltr">As a guide, the successful applicant could be expected to uphold the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers at either the Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher level.
