In recognition of this impact, the Australian Defence force is committed to providing support within schools for Defence families enabling these families to have a sense of belonging within a particular school community. The occupant of this position will provide information, support and develop a range of activities for the students of Australian Defence Force families to ease the impact of mobility and service-related parental absence.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt">As part of the Defence School Mentor Program objectives, the occupant of the position will work alongside the school to support Defence students’ social and emotional wellbeing in alignment with the school’s pastoral care policies and procedures.The position will also involve providing Defence families with information about the school environment and supports, as well as building knowledge of staff within the school to support the wellbeing needs of students from a Defence background.</span></p> <p><em><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt">This appointment is temporary in nature as it is dependent on a specific programme which is not of an ongoing nature.&nbsp; Should such funding be withdrawn, this Contract may be terminated earlier than the specified end date in line with the termination provisions contained within this Contract.</span></em></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt"><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt">Your application for this position should specifically address each of the selection criteria listed below.
