Today it comprises a K-12 co-educational School for students with intellectual disability, NextPath Post School Program for young adults with disability, NextPath Assessment and Therapy service for children and young adults, and an Early Childhood Education Program that includes a community based preschool. Mater Dei also operates a Foundation to support its many good works. </p><p>Governed by a committed and highly supportive Board of Directors, Mater Dei is a member of the community of ten schools across Australia comprising Good Samaritan Education (GSE). Established in 2011 by the Sisters of the Good Samaritan, the mission of GSE is to sustain and nurture Catholic schools as Good Samaritan Benedictine communities of learning. Mater Dei is renowned for its life enriching, innovative education, and active engagement in the wider community which has a significant impact on influencing attitudes towards disability. </p><p><b>About the Role </b></p><p>Mater Dei is seeking a permanent full time <b>Administrative Assistant </b>to join our Team as a shared organisational resource commencing as soon as possible. For the 2023 school year this role will initially provide professional level administrative support to the School Executive Team. This includes responsibility for coordinating the day to day entry, reporting and management of all student data within our Compass Education Management system and for providing reception support 2 days per week. Thereafter the role will likely be redeployed across the Organisation according to strategic need so an office ‘all-rounder’ skillset will be to your advantage. Importantly, the ability to liaise and interact with executive and staff, students, parents and other members of the Mater Dei community is a significant feature of the role. Please note for the 2023 school year the role will work school terms. Should circumstances require a change of Program/hours after 2023 these will be negotiated with the preferred applicant. Therefore an ability to be flexible and adaptable with availability beyond school terms is critical. </p><p><b>Essential Criteria </b></p><p>• Relevant business administration qualifications and demonstrated experience in a busy administrative, school based or executive support role </p><p>• Highly developed administrative, organisation and time management skills with attention to detail </p><p>• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) with an ability to build relationships, communicate at all levels and remain calm under pressure </p><p>• Self-directed with a proven ability to work under limited direction and organise and prioritise a range of tasks to meet deadlines </p><p>• Strong initiative, problem-solving skills and proven ability to develop and improve processes and practices </p><p>• Availability and openness to work during school holidays if required from 2024 </p><p>• High level Apple Mac computing skills including the use of digital calendars and email and the ability to utilise Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint at an advanced level (minimum typing speed 60wpm) </p><p>• Proficiency using Compass Education Management System </p><p>• Commitment to our organisational values and working collaboratively within a team environment </p><p>• Commitment to confidentiality and the ability to manage issues with sensitivity, diplomacy and tact </p><p>• Current Working with Children Check </p><p>• Up to date vaccination is a condition of employment at Mater Dei.
