We are a&nbsp;learning community whose teachers strive for the “spiritual, physical, emotional, intellectual, and aesthetic development of all students”.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt"><strong>About the Role</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt">St Clare’s College is a spirited learning community where students can develop their knowledge, skills, confidence and faith. <strong>The Inclusive Education Classroom Support Assistant</strong> provides support for the classroom teachers to help ensure all students can access and participate in College curriculum and activities.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt"><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></span></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt">Certificate IV in Education Support or similar (or substantial progress, and/or a willingness to complete in an agreed timeframe)</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt">Experience working with children who have diverse learning needs. This may include highly capable students requiring extension, students with physical or cognitive disabilities, and/or students who present behavioural and emotional difficulties</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt">A commitment to and understanding of the principles behind inclusive education practices, including the promotion of inclusion in the College community</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt">Effective communication and interpersonal skills, in particular the ability to relate well to teenage students and to work well in staff teams</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt">The ability to work effectively with teachers and students in the classroom</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt">Initiative and the ability to work independently and flexibly as needed</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt">Sound literacy and numeracy and ICT skills, and confidence in the ability to support students in developing these skills</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt">The ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt">Sound administrative and ICT skills</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt">Current and valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt">First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain one</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt">The capacity to be supportive of the goals of Catholic education and a readiness to foster the aims and vision of the College in the wider community</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt">Please refer to the role description for an in-depth detail regarding criteria and skill set required.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt"><strong>Application Process</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt">Applications are invited from interested candidates able to demonstrate a commitment to the vision of Catholic Education.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt">Applicants are required to submit a cover letter and current resume including a statement of suitability against the skills, attributes and experience as outlined in the Position Description</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt">This position involves working with children.
