<div>St Narsai Assyrian Christian College is seeking to employ a numeracy teacher. The successful candidates will be part of the Teaching and Learning Team to improve the numeracy skills of students at the College.</div><div><br /></div><div>This is a temporary full-time position, commencing term 1, 2023  with prospects for renewal in 2024.</div><div> </div><div> </div><p> </p><p><b>The ideal applicant will have the following capabilities and experience:</b></p><ul><li>Plan and implement coherent, well sequenced teaching and learning programs that engage students and maximise learning in numeracy skills </li><li>Plan and implement numeracy interventions, working collaboratively with the class teachers </li><li>Helps lead school-wide efforts to improve numeracy instruction</li><li>Collaborates with teachers in all departments to promote the learning and implementation of best practices in literacy instruction</li><li>Creates and examines data to measure the success of numeracy programs and instruction. </li><li>Use a range of teaching strategies to deliver quality teaching programs that are responsive to the learning strengths and needs of students. </li><li>Use assessment feedback to inform teaching practice. </li><li>Establish inclusive, supportive learning environments. </li><li>Develop, select and use informal and formal, formative and summative assessment strategies to assess student learning. </li><li>Prepare and deliver timely and targeted feedback and reports to students and parents. </li><li>Knowledge of Common Core numeracy outcomes and standards </li><li>Experience in the use and analysis of variety of assessment tools.</li></ul><p><b>The numeracy teacher’s preferred background and experience includes </b></p><ul><li>Strong numeracy and digital practices plus a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum </li><li>Teaching experience in a variety of secondary school settings </li><li>Experience in teaching Stage 4, 5, and 6 Mathematics </li></ul><p>Applicants must be registered with NESA and eligible to teach in NSW.<br /></p><p>The successful applicant for this position will be a self-motivated people person; well organised and willing to enthusiastically support the school&#39;s Christian mission. </p><p><b> Amongst other employee benefits, we offer:</b><br /></p><ul><li>Staff discounts for children attending our college </li><li>Post-graduate study scholarships and career growth opportunities </li><li>Access to pro rata long service leave after 5 years of continuous service </li><li>Various salary sacrificing options </li></ul><p><b>Application Process: </b></p><p>Please email your resume and a cover letter addressing the essential criteria to janetm&#64;shaps.nsw.edu.au by the closing date.
