We are a&nbsp;learning community whose teachers strive for the “spiritual, physical, emotional, intellectual, and aesthetic development of all students”.<br><br><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p><strong> The Leader of Learning - Vocational Education &amp; Training (VET)</strong> is a member of the College Teaching and Learning Forum responsible to the Principal through the Assistant Principal Teaching and Learning.&nbsp; They lead Vocational Education and Training at the College in accordance with ASQA, BSSS and College policies, best practice and leadership in education. They ensure that there is a growth focus on VET in the College, and that learning is continuous, compliant with current requirements and addresses the needs of students. The Leader of Learning VET holds delegated responsibility for the leadership, development and administration of excellence in VET curriculum and events.</p> <p><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></p> <p>There is a teaching load with this role. Therefore, the person filling this role must also possess the skills, knowledge and qualifications of an effective classroom teacher. Specific requirements for this role include:</p> <ul> <li>A commitment to promoting and articulating the Catholic identity of the College through all relevant programs and practices and in communication with staff, students and parents</li> <li>Demonstrated evidence of effective team-work and collaboration</li> <li>Appropriate qualifications and a commitment to engage in relevant ongoing Professional learning</li> <li>Successful experience in educational leadership, preferably in teaching and leading of VET courses</li> <li>A strong understanding of contemporary approaches to student learning and effective pedagogical practices</li> <li>The capacity to lead a team of people and to bring about effective change</li> <li>A high level of organisational and communication skills.</li> </ul> <p><em>Please refer to the role description for an in-depth detail regarding criteria and skill set required. <br><br><strong>Please note:</strong> This is a full-time position for an initial&nbsp;two-year period with an opportunity for further extensions. Two further extensions (each of four years) will be offered on performance outcomes.
