<p><b><u>The Opportunity</u></b></p><p>Enthusiastic and passionate individuals with a strong interest in food preparation, takes pride in their work and loves learning new skills, are strongly encouraged to apply for this exciting full time limited tenure Apprentice Chef (1st or 2rd Year) opportunity within a supportive and Catholic school environment. In this fast-paced role you will be responsible for general food preparation in order to support the daily operation (breakfast, recess and lunch) of the school canteen and a variety of events and functions on campus. The Apprentice Chef is expected to maintain high standards of cleanliness, food handling and hygiene practices within the kitchen at all times, in addition to ensuring a proactive safety-first approach.  </p><p><b><u>About You</u></b></p><p>As an organised, enthusiastic and excellent team player you will have:</p><ul><li>Strong interest and passion in cooking.</li><li>Seeking to commence a Chef apprenticeship or those who may have recently commenced an apprenticeship.  </li><li>Ability to effectively manage demands in a busy and fast paced environment. </li><li>Exceptional customer services.</li><li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to contribute as an effective, productive team member. </li><li>Practical understanding of health, safety and hygiene in a kitchen environment, including safe food handling, storage and manual handling techniques.</li><li>An understanding of and ability to contribute to the mission of St Patrick’s College as a Catholic school.</li><li>Monday to Friday between 6.30am - 2.30pm.</li></ul><p>CET supports the rights of children and young people and is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment directed at ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
