The Catholic Schools Officer (CSO) is seeking a temporary part time (0.8FTE) Education Officer - Development Disabilities to join the team in Term 1, 2023.<br><br>The Catholic Schools Office (CSO) is responsible for the leadership, operation and management of systemic schools which educate more than 21,000 students in 44 primary schools, 11 secondary schools, one K–12 school, one flexible learning centre and one special school in the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.<br><br><a href="https://diocesemn.azurewebsites.net/media/5791/position_description_-_cso_-_education_officer_-_developmental_disabilities.pdf" target="_blank"><strong><br><br><head3><b>POSITION DESCRIPTION</b></head3></strong></a><br><br>The role, Education Officer: Developmental Disabilities aims to:<br><li>Support school communities in the delivery of quality Learning and Wellbeing for students with developmental disabilities<br></li><li>Work with the Senior Education Officer (Student Support) and other Education Officers, in addressing the needs of schools in the Diocese<br></li><li>Ensure that schools are aware of the content and scope of Primary and Secondary Syllabus documents across all Key Learning Areas, and support schools to personalise learning for students with developmental disabilities<br></li><li>Ensure that schools are aware of, and work within, disability legislative requirements and obligations for schools<br></li><li>Deliver professional learning for schools as required<br></li><li>Conduct observations and assessments and provide feedback through formal reports.<br><br>The Education Officer: Developmental Disabilities is responsible to the Director of Schools through the Assistant Director: Learning and Wellbeing Services and the Senior Education Officer: Student Support.<br><br>All Education Officers will be supported with ongoing professional learning and networking opportunities to improve their knowledge and professional capacity.<br><br>Professional Practice and Development processes for the role of Education Officer: Developmental Disabilities will be established in consultation with the Head of Learning and Wellbeing. These will include feedback mechanisms from the Head of Service and relevant CSO staff.</li>
