Prince of Peace Lutheran College is seeking a Chaplain with a passion to serve God in our College.

<p><i>Prince of Peace Lutheran College is a K-12 co-educational, independent, Christian school located in the north-western suburbs of Brisbane. The College was established by the Prince of Peace Lutheran Congregation in 1984 to provide quality Christian education to the children of the community. </i></p><p><i>Prince of Peace Lutheran College offers classes on two sites from Kindergarten to Year 12 with approximately 820 students enrolled. The Junior Campus (K-6) is located at Rogers Parade West, Everton Park. The Middle &amp; Senior Campus, 1 km away at Henderson Road, Everton Hills was opened in July 2009 and is home to Years 7-12.</i></p><h5><b><br /></b></h5><h5><b>THE ROLE</b></h5><p>The Chaplain will have a mature Christian faith and be an active communicant member of a Christian congregation, preferably (but not essentially) Lutheran. They will have a deep understanding of the relationship between Christian theology and the operation of a Lutheran school, or be able and willing to acquire such an understanding quickly. They will have an orientation towards and a love for people, young and old, effective interpersonal skills, and the maturity and charisma to inspire trust and confidence in and engage with others. Ideally, they will have successful recent experience in a similar or related role and a passion to serve God in our College. Experience in leading worship or related activities, youth ministry and general pastoral care will be well regarded, as will effective organisation and supervisory skills. </p><h5><b><br /></b></h5><h5><b>SELECTION CRITERIA</b></h5><p><i>The following selection criteria must be addressed by all applicants:</i></p><ul><li>A deep understanding of the Christian Faith and Lutheran Theology.</li><li>A passion for building the spiritual and worship life of the College. </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of youth culture, with relevant or related experiences (preferably in a school setting with restorative practices). </li><li>An ability to build connections with young people, their families and the wider community. </li><li>An ability to partner and work with a diverse range of teams and supporting staff as a resource in this field. </li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills.</li></ul><h5><br /></h5><h5>QUALIFICATIONS</h5><ul><li>An appropriate qualification, e.g. Certificate IV in Christian Ministry &amp; Theology, Certificate IV in Pastoral Care, or similar and/or Bachelor of Education. </li><li>Up-to-date Child Protection training, or is prepared to undertake the necessary training </li><li>A Blue Card, or is eligible to obtain one. </li><li>The person may be ordained or non-ordained. The person must, however, be theologically literate and have aptitude and calling to undertake this work.</li></ul>
