Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) continues to be a thriving and growing contemporary educational community with over 150 schools, more than 71,000 students, 10,000 staff and a large alumni community.<br> <br> <strong>About the role</strong><br> <br> Reporting to the Supervisor: Strategic Initiatives and Infrastructure Development, the Education Officer: Neurodiverse Learner Infrastructure Development offers direct assistance to the Manager and Supervisors and the Specialist: Diverse Learning Infrastructure, in shaping the growth of physical and organisational structures related to Specialist Support settings for students with complex disability within SCS. The role also aids the Manager, Supervisors and Specialist in coordinating SCS's partnership with ASPECT Australia.<br> <br> The successful candidate for this position will be a highly effective leader responsible for:</p> <ul> <li>ensuring all NCCD processes are central informants to identifying students who may benefit from a specialist support setting</li> <li>offering information and advice in response to queries from Principals, teachers and parents in relation to SCS specialist support settings</li> <li>assisting in the identification of appropriate sites for specialist support classes and effectively engaging with a variety of key stakeholders</li> <li>contributing to the selection of teachers, learning support staff and allied health personnel</li> <li>leading the planning and implementation of specialist support class teacher capacity-building strategies and evaluating the impact of such initiatives</li> <li>facilitating the delivery of blended professional learning modules across the breadth of disability</li> <li>ensuring that professional learning focuses on the use of a range of assistive technologies in teaching and learning</li> <li>contributing to skilling team members in responding to a range of complex disability needs across cognitive, sensory, physical, social and emotional disabilities</li> <li>supporting schools in expanding students' educational opportunities and functional independence including the modelling of fulsome and accurate system-level record keeping</li> <li>ensuring that all documentation development within the role is systematic and timely</li> <li>assisting and supporting the Manager and Specialist in coordinating SCS's partnership with ASPECT Australia</li> <li>actively contributing to the work of the Diverse Learning team and the broader Education and Research team, offering particular expertise in the area of complex disability.</li> </ul> <p><strong>About you</strong><br> <br> The successful candidate will also possess the following qualifications and experience:</p> <ul> <li>university degree in Education or Teaching</li> <li>postgraduate degree in Education of another discipline is advantageous</li> <li>demonstrated five years minimum teaching experience in a school</li> <li>experienced in leading staff in professional learning</li> <li>demonstrated success in improving student outcomes</li> <li>demonstrated success in implementing school-wide initiatives</li> <li>experienced in using data analysis to inform educational initiatives</li> <li>demonstrated ability to articulate contemporary educational trends in both local and international contexts</li> <li>driver's licence</li> <li>high level written, oral and presentation skills.</li> </ul> <p>Additionally, you will are required to;</p> <ul> <li>be a qualified and accredited teacher with NESA</li> <li>operate at the Highly Accomplished or Lead level of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Application process</strong><br> <br>To apply for this position please <a href="https://cgprod.phris.org.au/psp/CGPRD/EMPLOYEE/HRMS/c/HRS_HRAM_FL.HRS_CG_SEARCH_FL.GBL?Page=HRS_APP_JBPST_FL&amp;Action=U&amp;FOCUS=Applicant&amp;SiteId=2&amp;JobOpeningId=2766&amp;PostingSeq=1">CLICK HERE</a> and follow the prompts.
