Mater Dei is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the following full time permanent Classroom Teaching position commencing as soon as possible in Term 1, 2023.

<p>Mater Dei School is the original educational service of Mater Dei. As one of ten schools that comprise Good Samaritan Education, it is a Catholic, independent school in the Good Samaritan Benedictine tradition. Mater Dei School is a coeducational setting for Kindergarten to Year 12 students with intellectual disability and has a strong focus on Research and Evidence-based teaching practices.<br /></p><p>Mater Dei School is committed to the provision of contemporary and innovative education for students with specific needs. Teachers deliver the curriculum implementing high-leverage practices to engage all students using Universal Design for Learning. Student wellbeing is embedded through the implementation of Positive Behaviour Interventions and Supports. </p><p><b>Position Summary </b></p><p>Classroom Teachers are responsible to the Deputy Principal but directly report to their Stage Leader for their day-to-day requirements. It is an expectation that the Classroom Teacher will teach across all Key Learning Areas and may be required to teach Infants, Primary or Secondary. </p><p>In addition, the Teacher will demonstrate a graduate, proficient or highly accomplished level of professional practice, in line with the seven Australian Professional Standards for Teacher. </p><p><b>Essential Criteria </b></p><p>• Demonstrated proficiency as an educator in all Key Learning Areas </p><p>• Ability to use data to inform and evaluate the learning process </p><p>• Ability to use the Universally Design for Learning Framework to program and plan for the diverse needs of students </p><p>• Strong commitment to the development of personal pedagogy to include contemporary and innovative practice </p><p>• Experience supporting students with disabilities and special learning needs </p><p>• Demonstrated commitment and capacity to work collaboratively within a team </p><p>• Demonstrated commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education including capacity and commitment to model the Benedictine values of Love of Christ &amp; Neighbour; Prayer; Stewardship; Hospitality; Community; and Justice &amp; Peace </p><p>• Sensitivity to the differing needs of families including privacy, confidentiality and diversity </p><p>• A current Working With Children Check, NESA registration and NSW drivers licence </p><p>• Up to date vaccination is required as a condition of employment at Mater Dei.</p><p><b>The following experience, skills and attributes are desirable:</b><br /></p><p>• Special Education qualifications </p><p>• Experience teaching students with Intellectual Disabilities </p><p>• Creating and implementing Universally Designed teaching and learning experiences </p><p>• Knowledge and/or experience implementing Evidence-based practices in the classroom </p><p><b>What we can offer you</b><br /></p><p>• Salary and conditions in accordance with NSW Catholic Independent Schools (Teachers – Model A) MEA 2017 </p><p>• Smaller class sizes with additional support </p><p>• An extra week pupil vacation period at the end of Term 2 each year </p><p>• Idyllic rural setting</p><p><b>Position Descriptions &amp; Employment Application Form</b>: To access the Position Description and our Employment Application Form, please visit https://www.materdei.org.au/mater-dei-organisation/careers-across-mater-dei/school-careers/<br /></p><p><b>To apply:</b> Forward a completed Mater Dei Employment Application Form, a cover letter addressing the criteria above and your CV to Karen Williams, HR Manager at employment&#64;materdei.org.au </p><p><b>Enquiries: </b> To discuss the role please contact Karen Williams on 4655 7481.
