Beacon Hill School is looking for a Learning Technology Specialist to join the community this August 2023. Successful candidate designs effective curriculum and provides professional leadership in order to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.

<p>Beacon Hill School (BHS) is a three- form entry school with approximately 540 students. BHS is an accredited IB World School utilising the Primary Years Programme (PYP) curriculum framework. The teacher will align with the inclusive philosophy of the school, forging strong and collaborative connections with students, teachers, educational assistants and parents. </p><p><b>Key Responsibilities </b></p><p><b>The ideal candidate will have the skills/ experience to: </b></p><ul><li>Lead learning for computational thinking, innovative design and makers centred learning. This includes construction skills, design thinking, tool safety, coding with microcontrollers, components and robotics </li><li>Establish trusting and respectful coaching relationships that encourage educators to explore new instructional strategies </li><li>Partner with educators to evaluate the efficacy of digital learning content and tools to inform procurement decisions and adoption </li><li>Personalise support for educators by planning and modelling the effective use of technology to improve student learning </li><li>Pursue professional learning that deepens expertise in the ISTE Standards in order to serve as a model for educators and leaders </li><li>Build the capacity of educators, leaders and instructional teams to put the ISTE Standards into practice by facilitating active learning and providing meaningful feedback </li><li>Use modern manufacturing tools such as laser cutters and 3D printers and teach their usage to others </li><li>Engage in online communities around edtech </li><li>Lead a team of two IT technicians to maintain schoolwide IT systems and enhance the learning of students </li></ul><p><b>The ideal candidate will have some classroom experience and knowledge of and a drive to keep updated on: </b></p><ul><li>Managing online systems and databases </li><li>Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 administrator experience </li><li>Knowledge and understanding of networking and terminology </li><li>iOS and Mac MDM experience </li></ul><p><b>Personal Skills and Abilities </b></p><ul><li>Excellent interpersonal skills with staff, students and parents </li><li>Excellent communication skills </li><li>Professional competence and self-confidence </li><li>High level of motivation </li><li>Ability to take initiative, work independently, and exercise judgement </li><li>Administrative, analytical and problem-solving skills </li><li>Ability to work well in a team </li><li>Identifying and evaluating new technological developments and evaluating their appropriateness in education. </li><li>Fostering a collaborative and collegial working environment among IT personnel, faculty, staff, suppliers, consultants, and partners. </li><li>Communicating with and understanding the needs of all stakeholders. </li><li>Interacting with all levels of education and management. </li></ul><p><b>Requirements </b></p><ul><li>Bachelor&#39;s Degree in Education, or </li><li>Bachelor&#39;s Degree in any subjects with PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate of Education), or equivalent </li><li>Relevant teaching experience within a recognised educational organisation</li></ul><p><b>Teaching in Hong Kong </b></p><p>Hong Kong is a premier destination for expatriate and local teachers!
