<p>The primary role of a Language Assistant is to support teachers, students and other community members to learn and use Indonesian language.</p><p>The role may include the following:<br /></p><p>· Working with individuals or small groups of teachers to present new vocabulary.<br /></p><p>· Modeling correct, but simplified, language use.<br /></p><p>· Supporting teachers and students to build confidence in using the language by encouraging incidental communication outside of the designated language learning time.<br /></p><p>· Providing feedback to students and teachers on their use of language.<br /></p><p>· Supporting in-class learning experiences, such as working with small groups of students, and encouraging teachers with their efforts.<br /></p><p>· Engaging in team-teaching of language and encouraging creative output of language by teachers, students and the wider community.</p><p>· Developing both physical and digital resources for use in Language learning experiences<br /></p><p>· Considering opportunities for cross-curricular links.<br /></p><p>The successful applicant will:<br /></p><p>demonstrate a passion for working with children<br /></p><p>demonstrate a capacity to work as an effective Indonesian Language Assistant<br /></p><p>demonstrate an understanding of the work of Catholic schools and a willingness to actively contribute to a range of school activities<br /></p><p>demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to Child Safe Catholic schools policy.<br /></p><p>This community is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care.In applying for a position with Catholic Education Melbourne (CEM), you will be asked to provide certain personal information to enable your application to be considered.
