Teachers within the Diocese are responsible to the Principal and shares in the learning and teaching of subject matters to students of the school community. Teachers are responsible for delivering high quality contemporary learning and teaching for the community they serve which is embedded in the Catholic world view. It is a collaborative ministry of witness and service and part of the evangelising mission of the Church.

Personalised Planning Support, must be an enthusiastic, talented professional able to bring innovation and creativity to their learning areas with experience of supporting teachers and students within and beyond the learning spaces. <strong>This position is open to both Primary and Secondary teachers with experience or a passion for supporting learners with additional needs.</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">We are seeking&nbsp; teachers who has a passion for supporting an inclusive learning environment for students through the implementation of adjustments including positive behaviour supports.</p> <p dir="ltr">We are happy to invite teachers seeking a change in direction, who have a passion for diversity and maybe looking or willing to move from fulltime classroom teaching to a role that supports staff in ensuring adequate adjustments are made for students, working closely with students and families.</p> <p dir="ltr">This position reports to the Diversity Leader and the Assistant Diversity Leader</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Position criteria</strong></p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>The successful applicant will demonstrate:</strong></p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">a sound knowledge of and commitment to the mission of Catholic Education in the Parramatta Diocese as well as NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) requirements.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">a high standard of competency and proficiency in classroom practice that reflects an understanding of the diverse learning needs of children</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">an ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff members across school learning environments in implementing individual and small group learning programs.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">has the capacity to adapt and be resilient in responding to changing priorities.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">a working knowledge of system processes and support agencies that provide support to children and families with special needs</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">skill in working with and building capacity of class teachers in developing educational plans for children with special needs</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">evidence of exemplary written and oral communication skills with students, parents and staff</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">a commitment to ongoing professional learning and passion for education</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">&nbsp;A commitment to actively engaging in and contributing to the implementation of the school's development plan.</p> </li> </ul> <br> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Position Description</strong></p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">As the Diversity Support Teacher - Personalised Planning Support you will: support the Catholic Identity of St Patrick’s Marist College and assist young people to participate in the full experience of College life&nbsp;</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">work within a student centred model, supporting their specific areas of need and increasing their learning opportunities&nbsp;</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">support students as they transition into varying learning spaces within the school ensuring that appropriate learning adjustments are embedded</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">develop, maintain and implement Personalised Learning Plans (PPs) and other administrative tasks associated with Special Needs students as outlined by the Disability Act.</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">develop behaviour plans and understand the importance of positive behaviour support planning for students</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">support Teachers in class by understanding the specific learning needs of students in order to prepare appropriate adjustments in their teaching and learning program</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">attend and participate in Diversity and Staff meetings facilitate collaborative teaching and planning for all students who require adjustments to the curriculum such as Case Management</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">assist with providing students with the opportunity to develop personal, social and independent learning skills</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission of Catholic Education and a willingness to actively support and promote the Catholic, academic and pastoral dimension of College life</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">integrate digital technology as an enabler and accelerator for student learning and professional learning</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">lead and use diagnostic data, summative data and formative data, including observations, annotations and work samples, to inform ‘next steps’ for students</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">demonstrate understanding of curriculum and pedagogy including the implementation of&nbsp; Life Skills pattern of study.</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">have demonstrated the understanding and application of the whole school policies and procedures concerning including Codes of Conduct, WHS, Safeguarding and student wellbeing.</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Previous applicants need not apply.</strong></p> </li> </ul> <p>Please respond to the above selection criteria in your cover letter.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>The Organisation</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 83 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out of school hours care centres in Western Sydney.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">This position involves working with children.
