We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Learning Area Leader (English) to join our College Leadership Team.

<p><b>About the College </b></p><p>As a Catholic School, Thomas Carr College aims to educate our students with an appreciation of the spiritual as well as the intellectual and physical aspects of their lives. We work with our parents to produce young people of faith and character. We are a Catholic Co-educational College in Tarneit, west of Melbourne with 1180 students.</p><p><b>The Role</b></p><p> </p><p>The Learning Area Leader for English, EAL and Literacy works closely with the Deputy Principal Learning and Teaching, and with the support of the Heads of Learning and Teaching oversees the development and implementation of a comprehensive English curriculum across all year levels. This role is also responsible for providing leadership in the development of the College’s English as a Second Language (EAL) curriculum and literacy programs to enhance student learning outcomes and support the Literacy Leader.<br /></p><p><b>Skills and experience</b><br /></p><p> </p><p>Demonstrate a strong understanding of, and commitment to, Catholic education</p><ul><li>Demonstrate an understanding and acceptance of the Thomas Carr College Vision and Mission Statement and the values that underpin it </li><li>Show the capacity to provide leadership that is characterised by a desire for continuous improvement, lateral thinking and innovation </li><li>Display knowledge and expertise in a range of subject areas across the Victorian Curriculum </li><li>Demonstrate proven organisational skills </li><li>Demonstrate highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to liaise and communicate effectively with people at all levels and from varying backgrounds </li><li>Work independently and effectively in the face of changing priorities, deadlines and pressures </li><li>Demonstrate the qualities of an exemplary teacher</li></ul><p><b>To Apply for this role </b></p><p>Applications close 12 December 2022 at 4.00pm and must include your resume, cover letter addressing the key criteria listed in the Duty Statement and the names of 3 referees.  A completed Thomas Carr College application form located in the &#39;Our College&#39; section of the College website: <a href="http://www.thomascarr.vic.edu.au/Employment" rel="nofollow">www.thomascarr.vic.edu.au/Employment</a> is also required.</p>
