This is an exciting opportunity for a Pastoral Care Worker to join a thriving and dynamic community for the 2023 school year.

<p><b>Position overview</b></p><p>At St Brigid’s Primary School, the Pastoral Care Worker will support students through the form of individual sessions or group work. The Pastoral Care Worker will collaborate with families and teachers to ensure that children are supported in a holistic approach. The Pastoral Care Worker will oversee, implement and coordinate programs that focus on supporting and empowering students.</p><p>Salary and conditions are implemented according to the Victorian Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement 2018 (ranging from ESB Level 3 – Level 4) and will be determined based on qualifications and expertise of the successful applicant. </p><p>The successful applicant will: </p><ul><li>have a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and to the safety and wellbeing of children; </li><li>embrace a collegial, team-based approach; </li><li>be appropriately qualified, demonstrate enthusiasm and ability in the field of Pastoral Care Work; </li><li>commit to regular, on-going professional development</li></ul><p><b>Background, Qualifications and Requirements: </b></p><ul><li>qualifications in Social Work/Welfare/Counselling;</li><li>professional counselling experience;</li><li>awareness of the ethical and legal issues involved in the role of Pastoral Care Worker within a school environment;</li><li>current membership, or be eligible to be a member, of relevant professional association (e.g. AHPRA/AASW);</li><li>Working with Children Check and a National Police Record Check.</li></ul><p><b>Role Description:</b><br /></p><p>The successful applicant will: </p><ul><li>be familiar with and comply with our school&#39;s child-safe policy and code of conduct, and all other policies or procedures relating to child safety;</li><li>demonstrate a strong commitment to the Catholic ethos and Catholic Identity of our school;</li><li>demonstrate knowledge, skills and qualifications suited to working in the role of Pastoral Care;</li><li>be able to provide care and support for students whilst supporting and respecting the ethos of our school and its environment;</li><li>provide counselling for students;</li><li>collaborate with families and teachers to ensure that children are supported in a holistic approach;</li><li>oversee, implement and coordinate programs that focus on supporting and empowering students;</li><li>oversee and implement an internal referral process;</li><li>demonstrate a professional standard of practice in line with the AASW/AHPRA;</li><li>liase with Principal and Wellbeing Team regarding Pastoral Care matters;</li><li>maintains digital professional records in accordance with legislative requirements.</li></ul><p><b>Starting Date:</b> Term 1, 2023</p><p><b>Application Procedure: </b></p><p>Applications must include: </p><ul><li>completed Application for Employment Form;</li><li>a cover letter detailing the applicant’s experience;</li><li>current CV with names and contact phone numbers of three referees.</li></ul><p><i>Applications are to be addressed to the Principal, Jayne Bosworth, and emailed to: jbosworth&#64;sbballan.catholic.edu.au </i></p><p><b>Closing Date for Applications:</b> 9:00am Thursday 15th December, 2022 </p><p><b><i>St Brigid’s Primary School, Ballan is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care.</i></b></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
