Preshil is seeking applications from suitably experienced teachers, for the role of Student Wellbeing Coordinator.

The rapport between students and their teachers is respectful, reciprocal and focussed on achieving a lifelong love for learning, the best possible learning outcomes, trust and a genuine regard for each individual.</p><p><b>Role Summary </b></p><p>The Student Wellbeing Coordinator is responsible for initiating, implementing, documenting, analysing and evaluating student development and wellbeing programs as they impact on the educational and personal development of students. The Student Wellbeing Coordinator is a Child Safety Officer.</p><p><b>Knowledge and Experience</b><br /></p><p>The Student Wellbeing Coordinator will be required to have knowledge of and experience in the following: </p><ul><li>The factors that lead to disengagement from education and the interrelationship of disengagement and wellbeing </li><li>An understanding of the impacts of trauma on development and engagement in education</li><li>Demonstrated experience working effectively with young people, assisting them to reconnect with school</li><li>Demonstrated understanding of the complexity of adolescent development </li><li>Demonstrated to assist quickly, sensitively and effectively with the de-escalation of young people in moments of personal distress</li><li>Knowledge and experience in the use of positive behaviour supports including the development of behaviour supports strategies and plans</li><li>Knowledge of the Child Safe Standards and ability to adhere to and proactively support them </li></ul><p><b>Capabilities </b></p><ul><li>Competency in the Google suite of applications or the ability to learn how to use new systems effectively</li><li>Case noting and record keeping skills (with an understanding of privacy and confidentiality) </li><li>Clear and effective communication with a diverse range of stakeholders</li></ul><p>This is a full-time, ongoing role commencing in January 2023. </p><p><b><i>Applications close on Friday 16 December 2022 at 4.00pm.</i></b></p><p>For more information and to apply, please follow <a href="https://preshil.vic.edu.au/our-school/jobs/" rel="nofollow">this link</a>.</p><p><br /></p><p> </p>
