St John's Primary School, Lambton&nbsp;is seeking a temporary part time (14.75hrs p/w) Learning Support Assistant&nbsp;to join the team in January until May 2023 with the possibility of extending depending on funding.<br><br>St John's Primary School&nbsp;provides a supportive and safe learning environment for students from Kindergarten to Year 6.<br>St John’s strives to meet the needs of all students, providing a quality academic curriculum that develops the uniqueness and potential of each student.<br>Staff at St John’s are dedicated to ensuring continual progress and growth in learning through the use of reflective practices, data driven research and evidence-based teaching.<br>With access to modern facilities and the incorporation of 21st century technology, St John’s encourages all students to pursue the highest level of achievement.<br><br><a href="https://diocesemn.azurewebsites.net/media/5659/position_description_-_cso_-_learning_support_assistant.pdf" target="_blank"><strong><br><br><head3><b>POSITION DESCRIPTION</b></head3></strong></a><br><br>Learning Support Assistants (LSA) in a Catholic school have a unique role to play and are assigned with the task of supporting teachers in ensuring each child has the opportunity to grow both academically and spiritually and to live a purposeful life.<br><li>Supported by the Catholic community, of which they are a vital part, LSAs support teachers in inviting students and their families into a faith-filled educational experience<br></li><li>LSAs support the promotion of the school as a place of learning and excellence where creativity and curiosity are nurtured and students are connected with their world through deep learning and engagement<br></li><li>Under the direction of teachers, LSAs provide support and assistance in school routines; classroom activities; and the care and support of students with disability.<br><br>The Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, preventing those in our care from suffering abuse or neglect, and is committed to being compliant with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and the National Catholic Safeguarding Standards.
