We have an exciting opportunity for an Inclusive Learning Support Teacher to join our small, welcoming community at the Rockhampton Flexible Learning Centre.

<p><b>Inclusive Learning Support Teacher </b></p><p><b>Full Time Ongoing </b>(includes a 6 month probation period) </p><p>Rockhampton Flexible Learning Centre is a coeducational Catholic school in the Edmund Rice tradition. It has a clear commitment to social justice and stands in solidarity with disadvantaged people of all social, cultural and religious backgrounds with a particular sensitivity to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. We endeavour to employ people that have the drive and motivation to work towards successful outcomes for our young people. </p><p>We are seeking applications from both primary and secondary trained Teachers. The position will commence at the start of the 2023 school year. </p><p><b>What is the role? </b></p><p>The role of the Inclusive Learning Support Teacher is to support other staff to ensure that the assessed identified needs of young people are met. Specifically, to support the development and implementation of effective, inclusive learning and teaching programs for young people. This includes conducting learning assessments to assist in the identification of individual learning needs and providing intensive individual intervention when required. The position involves working directly with children and young people on a daily basis and therefore must be able to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate child safeguarding behaviours when engaging with children. All young people are owed a duty of care while in the supervision of the position. </p><p><b>Some key responsibilities include: </b></p><ul><li>Specialist knowledge to develop, monitor and review school practices and procedures that support the engagement and full participation of young people with a disability and ensure compliance with legislative and network/system policies. </li><li>Specialist knowledge that supports the engagement and learning progress of young people with specific learning needs with reference to the Australian Curriculum (Learning Areas, General Capabilities and Cross-Curriculum Priorities). </li><li>Support colleagues to develop wholistic personal learning plans in collaboration with young people with reference to their assessed individual needs and challenging goals across a range of learning areas and transferable skills. </li><li>Assist colleagues to create, select and use a range of resources, including ICT, to engage young people with specific needs in their learning. </li></ul><p><b>To join our small school community, you’ll need: </b></p><ul><li>Queensland College of Teachers registration or ability to obtain prior to commencement date </li><li>Ability to work within the four principles of Respect, Honesty, Participation and Safe and Legal </li><li>An ability to flexibly use a range of pedagogical approaches </li><li>Capacity to integrate a range of learning areas </li></ul><p>For full details of the position please refer to the Position Description by clicking &#39;Apply for job&#39; to access our external application portal. </p><p><b>Employee benefits include: </b></p><p>In addition to small class groups, flexible approach to learning, we also offer a range of additional benefits to our teachers including: </p><ul><li>Superannuation up to 12.75% employer contribution (if an employee co-contribution is made) </li><li>Salary Sacrificing options </li><li>Induction, Wellbeing and Professional Development Opportunities </li><li>Dedicated support to assist new teachers </li></ul><p><b>Application closing date is 6 January 2023 at 5:00pm. </b></p><p>Our organisation supports the rights of children and young people and is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment directed at ensuring their safety and wellbeing. </p><p>All applications for this position will be subjected to screening procedures as detailed in the Commission of Children and Young people and Childs Guardian legislation.
