<p><b>Head of Campus </b></p><p>Gateway Community High, Carlingford </p><p><b>create, lead, inspire </b></p><p>Gateway Community High is a unique, independent Special Assistance School that opened in January 2021. </p><p>We are seeking a very special person to be our Head of Campus to provide people and educational leadership that ensures we nurture and inspire our students. The Head of Campus nurtures the philosophy, culture and values with staff and students to achieve our vision of creating a School where every student can Achieve. Belong. Grow. </p><p>This is a rare leadership opportunity to grow, shape and lead the Gateway Community High team to create an exceptional school. You will have the opportunity to lead and work in a small school setting, enabling attention to be given to the diverse needs of all students. </p><p>The School currently provides opportunities for 40 young people in Stage 5 (years 9/10) to thrive in an educational setting tailored to support their learning and belonging. We offer the NESA curriculum which enables students to attain their ROSA. With plans in place to offer Stage 6 ( years 11/12) and the HSC we will continue to grow over the next 3 years. </p><p>The Head of Campus oversees the day-to-day operations of the campus including enrolments, student welfare and discipline, building the school community, managing staff and facilities. Educational leadership is a key aspect of the role working closely with the teaching and learning support team, including an active teaching load of up to (0.4). </p><p>Reporting to the Group CEO you are a member of the Leadership Team and are therefore responsible for implementing key initiatives consistent with the Strategic and Business Plans in partnership with the executive team, Board and staff. </p><p><b>The successful candidate will possess: </b></p><p>Ability to bring the vision, philosophy and values of the school to life in its first years of operations. </p><p>Passion for positively influencing re-engagement through student-centred alternative educational approaches and holistic support. </p><p>Exceptional interpersonal and community building skills to rapidly build productive relationships with a range of stakeholders. </p><p>Leadership skills to ensure achievement of students - academically, socially and personally. </p><p>Big Picture thinking with attention to detail - inspiring and innovative about student achievement whilst complying with NESA’s regulatory frameworks and our policies and procedures. </p><p><b>Essential Selection Criteria </b></p><p>A recognised qualification in teaching and current NESA teaching accreditation at a proficient level or above. </p><p>A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a school setting in a teaching or student welfare role. </p><p>Minimum two years of leadership experience in a school or other setting. </p><p>Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability in student pastoral care, the development and implementation of behaviour management processes, the resolution of conflict with parents, staff and colleagues. </p><p>Ability to effectively work in a learning environment with young people who have faced social or emotional challenges </p><p>Possess outstanding problem-solving skills, flexibility and ability to reach solutions that meet student needs and the requirements of the School. </p><p>Ability to achieve outcomes, even when under the pressures of time, uncertainty and challenging situations. </p><p><b>Benefits </b></p><p>Opportunity to work with a like-minded team to positively influence young people to stay engaged with their education and future career options. </p><p>This position would suit someone with experience in a similar environment with leadership level experience, or someone looking to take that next step into something that creates social impact for young people that face barriers to participating in larger mainstream schooling. </p><p>Above award salaries and outstanding employment conditions.
