We are seeking an enthusiastic, talented teaching professional to join our dynamic Religious Education and Chaplaincy team. </p><p>As an independent Anglican school, the Religious Education program plays an important role across the school in teaching the students about the Christian faith and also world religions and ethics. The position will involve supporting the Head of Department to create and deliver talks, services and lunchtime groups that are relevant, meaningful and grounded in the Christian tradition across the School. In addition the position will have allocation to teach Religious Education.</p><p>The position is a permanent full time role commencing in Term 1, 2023. Experience teaching Studies of Religion is desirable, teaching qualifications are highly regarded but not necessary for this role. </p><p>Responsibilities of the role include:</p><ul><li>Supporting the Head of Department to lead in the spiritual care of staff and students at Kambala.</li><li>Planning, programming and teaching of Religious Education from Prep - Year 10.</li><li>Assisting to plan and deliver Chapel Services and Christian Lunchtime Groups, including giving talks from the Bible that are age-appropriate and speak to a diverse community. </li><li>Assist to co-ordinate and run the RE office as a drop-in space, offering pastoral support to students.</li><li>Establishing a safe and supportive learning environment both within and outside of the classroom.</li><li>Using a variety of appropriate teaching strategies and resources, including ICT to make content meaningful to all students.</li><li>Managing student behaviour by engaging students in purposeful and worthwhile learning activities.</li><li>Remain committed to child protection and contribute to meeting the child safe program standards.</li></ul><p>We are looking for someone who:</p><ul><li>can demonstrate a sound knowledge and personal affinity with the Christian tradition, biblical studies and ethical issues; speaking clearly, confidently, and generously on matters of faith and spirituality.</li><li>is passionate about the teaching and development of spiritual understanding amongst students;</li><li>can display a high level of biblical literacy and awareness of issues in Religious Studies; </li><li>is passionate about assisting students to question, explore and grow their own spirituality, helping them to understand what the Bible says and what it means for their lives.</li><li>possesses teaching qualifications and is an effective classroom teacher with an excellent understanding of the curriculum and pedagogy; </li><li>has a natural rapport with staff and students;</li><li>is knowledgeable about the effective use of ICT in the classroom in order to improve student learning outcomes;</li><li>is confident in differentiating the curriculum in the classroom;</li><li>will support the co-curricular and pastoral care programs at the school;</li><li>will actively support the ethos of this Anglican Independent School; and</li><li>has a commitment to ongoing professional learning.</li></ul><p> Any applicant will be required to supply a current Working with Children Check Number or Application Number.</p><p>Applications should include the names of at least two referees, including a referee from a current minister or pastor, and curriculum vitae.</p><p>Applicants may be interviewed as applications are received and the position may be filled prior to the deadline. </p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>
