<p>St Catherine&#39;s Catholic College Singleton is seeking a permanent full-time Leader of Learning - TAS to join the team from 2023.<br /><br />St Catherine&#39;s Catholic College draws its students from the Singleton local Government Area. Singleton is approximately 73 kilometres from Newcastle, close to attractions such as historical villages of Morpeth and Wollombi and a 30minute drive from the beautiful vineyard area of the Hunter Valley. The College is a co-educational school offering a comprehensive curriculum for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. </p><p>Nestled in the beautiful Hunter Valley, St Catherine’s has a proud history of excellence and achievements in academic, sporting and cultural pursuits and offers a seamless transition for your all students in their educational journey. St Catherine’s is a Visible Wellbeing School focused on high expectations for all students. We have a Gifted Education Program and provide differentiated curriculum for students with diverse learning needs, both intervention and extension. <br /><br /><br /><b>POSITION DESCRIPTION</b></p><p>Leaders of Learning work in collaboration with the school leadership team and colleagues to promote the school as a place of learning and excellence in accordance with contemporary evidence-based learning principles. Within their faculty they will: </p><ul><li>ensure the highest standards of teaching practice </li><li>lead and support the ongoing development, implementation and oversight of quality teaching programs and learning outcomes </li><li>have deep understanding and expertise in KLA curriculum requirements </li><li>establish a culture of collaborative and reflective practice </li><li>support individuals in identifying new experiences for their continual professional development </li><li>know their students and strive to provide engaging learning that supports student wellbeing. </li></ul><p>Teachers in a Catholic school have a unique role to play and are assigned with the task of ensuring each child has the opportunity to grow both academically and spiritually and to live purposeful lives. The teacher will promote the school as a place of learning and excellence in accordance with contemporary evidence-based learning and wellbeing principles (including digital learning) and will ensure the ongoing development and implementation of pedagogical practices that impact on student learning outcomes. The teacher will acknowledge and agree to the requirement to work within the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. </p><p>The Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, preventing those in our care from suffering abuse or neglect, and is committed to being compliant with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and the National Catholic Safeguarding Standards. All employees are required to undergo a National Police Check, retain a valid NSW Working with Children Check and ensure compliance with our safeguarding policies, the Diocesan Safeguarding Commitment Statement, and the Codes of Conduct.</p><p><b>EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA </b></p><ul><li>Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the Church through Catholic schools </li><li>Demonstrated success in ensuring a culture of continuous improvement, creating and leading effective professional learning and building the capacity of teachers as leaders in learning </li><li>Demonstrated management and administrative skills to ensure assessment, and teaching and learning programs operate effectively and efficiently </li><li>Demonstrated capacity to effectively utilise data to optimise organisational and educational outcomes, to think and act strategically, and to support the Leadership Team in leading the mission of the school </li><li>High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to develop and sustain constructive And respectful relationships within and beyond the school community </li><li>Prior leadership experience (Desirable) </li><li>Working towards Highly Accomplished or Lead Teaching Standards (Desirable) </li><li>Experience with Stage 6 TAS subjects (Desirable) </li><li>Proven ability to manage individual portfolios and projects to a high standard (Desirable) </li></ul><p><b>QUALIFICATIONS </b></p><ul><li>Four-year trained teacher classification with at least four years successful teaching experience consistent with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers </li><li>NESA Teacher Accreditation </li><li>Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number </li><li>Completion of anaphylaxis training </li><li>Postgraduate study in education (e.g. Master of leadership, educational leadership, IT, Curriculum) (Desriable)</li></ul><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
