Catherine McAuley College is seeking a suitably qualified Occupational Therapist to join the Student Services Team to provide quality school-based occupational therapy services, which includes but is not limited to assessment, intervention, contributing to the development and update of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), completion of reports and school based documentation.
<p>The role of the school based occupational therapy position is to support students with additional needs to participate in school life. This may include providing help with attention and concentration levels, regulation of emotions and behaviour, sensory regulation, handwriting, engagement in movement and physical activities and engagement in activities of daily living. </p><p>The role will require working within a multidisciplinary team involving student support and counselling professionals. </p><p>The Occupational Therapist role will involve both direct service to students, consultation and training with staff to meet individual needs within the school setting. The role will involve assessment and counselling for social-emotional needs which include and are not limited to psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, risk assessments and development of support plans. </p><p>This role will also contribute to the development of IEPs to meet the individual needs of the child, providing recommendations regarding the use of adaptive equipment and adjustments based upon assessment or observational data.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
