TAS Teacher - Mandatory Technology

<p><b>Permanent, P/T</b></p><p>Wenona is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic teacher of Mandatory Technology to join our collaborative TAS faculty and to inspire our young women through dynamic classroom practice, refined professional knowledge and a commitment to high performance. This position has the potential to extend to Stage 5 and 6 teaching in the future, so experience in teaching within a specialist area(s) at these levels would also be highly regarded.</p><p>At Wenona, we have an obligation to our profession to ensure the highest quality educational outcomes for our students. We expect our teachers to be committed to their own professional development and to want to make a contribution to the broader educational community.</p><p>Wenona supports both academic and professional services staff to develop their expertise through initiatives such as Wenona Teaching Fellowships, Seeding Grants and ongoing outstanding professional learning that develops and supports career development into the future.</p><p><b>Key priorities</b></p><ul><li>Ability and experience teaching Stage 4 Technology.</li><li>Skills within all or some of the following: resistant materials, laser technology, digital technologies, textiles technologies.</li><li>Ability to use Adobe programs including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.</li><li>Ability to inspire our students and continue to build our thriving academic program.</li><li>Outstanding professional practice, including demonstrated capacity to differentiate the curriculum.</li><li>Proven ability to ensure teaching and learning activities reflect contemporary pedagogy, including the ability to integrate an inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning.</li><li>An ability to plan and implement for authentic assessment that informs teaching and learning.</li><li>A commitment to pastoral care and meeting the social and emotional wellbeing needs of young people.</li><li>An ongoing commitment to professional learning, including making a contribution to the broader educational community.</li><li>An understanding of and commitment to the educational needs of girls and young women.</li><li>A commitment to collaborative teaching practices and an ability to contribute to our team of professional educators.</li><li>An ability to use ICT to facilitate and enrich student learning and engagement beyond the classroom.</li></ul><p><b>Education and Experience</b></p><ul><li>Experience in teaching across Years 7-12.</li><li>Outstanding teaching qualifications.</li><li>HSC marking experience desirable.</li><li>Strong knowledge of NESA curriculum, HSC assessment practices and marking processes, including developments with Australian Curriculum implementation in NSW.</li><li>NESA Accreditation.</li><li>Current NSW Working with Children Check.</li></ul><p><b>Personal Attributes</b></p><ul><li>Excellent communication skills, with an ability to engage and communicate with all stakeholders including students, parents and staff.</li><li>Ability to be solutions focused and data-driven in all decision making.</li><li>Desire to use flexibility and creativity in day-to-day activities.</li><li>A sense of humour.</li></ul><p>Wenona is an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion, sexual orientation or age.</p><p><b>Application process</b></p><p>Application should be submitted online via our application form and must include an up-to-date curriculum vitae, a cover letter outlining your experience, your NESA and WWCC numbers, plus the names and contact telephone numbers of two professional referees.
