</p><p>Our school is part of <a href="https://sydcatholicschools.nsw.edu.au/about-us" rel="nofollow">Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS)</a> which continues to be a thriving and growing contemporary educational community with over 150 schools, more than 71,000 students,10,000 staff and a large alumni community.</p><p><b>About you</b></p><p>The successful applicant Science Lab Assistant will support the administrative and practical functions of the College Science Department.</p><p><b>To be successful for this role, you must demonstrate:</b><br /></p><ul><li>a commitment to supporting the positive religious and cultural Catholic school environment </li><li>strong organisation and time management skills</li><li>experience in preparation of practical work for use in the classroom, including general and complex laboratory experiments</li><li>experience in preparation of simple chemical solutions and, under instruction, more complicated solutions</li><li>develop and use appropriate storage systems, including those for dangerous and toxic substances consistent with material safety data sheets</li><li>competence and confidence in using a variety of ICT including Microsoft Office Applications</li><li>ability to follow direction, prioritise and meet set deadlines</li><li>effective communication skills both written and verbal</li><li>professional presentation</li><li>ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team</li><li>ability to be flexible, adaptive and willing to assist with a diverse range of support roles across the College.</li></ul><p><b>Desirable Criteria:
</b></p><ul><li>familiarity with the Mac OSX, COMPASS, Risk Assess and Google Applications</li><li>previous laboratory experience or working knowledge of laboratory processes</li><li>current First Aid qualifications</li><li>possess a sound knowledge of current WH&S legislation and guidelines.<br /></li></ul><p><b>You will have attained:
</b></p><ul><li>an Employee ID registration number with Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) or a commitment to Register to Work in SCS.
