<p><b>About the College</b></p><p>As a Catholic School Thomas Carr College aims to educate our students with an appreciation of the spiritual as well as the intellectual and physical aspects of their lives. We aim to work with our parents to produce young people of faith and character. </p><p><b>About the role</b><br /></p><p>The College is seeking expressions of interest from pre-service teachers to support students through the Victorian Government’s Tutor Learning Program. The role of the Tutor is to support students to accelerate their learning in 2023. </p><p>Tutors upon appointment, agree to discharge the duties as outlined below. Reporting to the Deputy Principal – Learning and Teaching with the support of the Directors of Learning and Teaching, they will work as part of a team to provide targeted support for students who have been identified as requiring intervention and additional learning support with a focus on literacy and numeracy. They will be expected to support the College’s vision and values. <br /></p><p>Tutors will work with individual students and small groups across Years 7 to 12 to provide a combination of one to one and small group tuition.<br /></p><p>Tutors are employed as part of the College’s Tutor Learning Program are:</p><ol><li>To implement the College’s Tutor Learning Program focused on supporting students whose learning was significantly impacted by COVID-19 and who have been identified as requiring intervention and additional learning support with a focus on literacy and numeracy. </li><li>To monitor and report on the progress of these students as required. </li><li>To adhere to all Child Safety legislation and College requirements. </li></ol><div>Applications are currently invited from suitably qualified individuals:</div><div><br /></div><ul><li>Demonstrates a strong understanding of, and commitment, to Catholic education.</li><li>Demonstrate an understanding and acceptance of the Thomas Carr College Vision and Mission Statement and the values that underpin it.</li><li>Have the relevant education and qualifications with a broad knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum F-10 and VCE, and/or expertise in literacy and/or numeracy.</li><li>Have proven organisational skills.</li><li>Demonstrate highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to liaise and communicate effectively with people at all levels and from varying backgrounds.</li><li> Have displayed a commitment to teamwork. </li></ul><p><b>To apply for this position </b></p><p>All applications are to include 3 referees, the applicant&#39;s CV and the Thomas Carr College Employment Application Form located on the Employment page of the College website: https://www.thomascarr.vic.edu.au/Employment. </p><p>Applications close 12 December 2022 at 4.00pm.<br /></p><p><br /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
