The College is seeking a dynamic, innovative leader who can collaboratively work to position the College into the future where our community's experiences of learning is transformed so we are building our students capacity to learn, create and adapt to an unknown future. 2 Point Coordinator renumeration and time release. Position commencing January 2023.

<p><i>Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College, Kensington</i> is seeking an innovative, experienced and collaborative leader to fill this key role in the College.</p><p>Ultimately responsible to the Principal, a Leader of Pastoral Care is accountable to the Assistant Principal for co-leading the pastoral care and wellbeing priorities across the College. Leaders of Pastoral Care develop effective pastoral care and wellbeing approaches to enable and support each student&#39;s learning growth, and the development of their learning capabilities.</p><p><i> </i></p><p> </p><p>Leaders of Pastoral Care assist the Principal in implementing wellbeing and pastoral care initiatives at the College by working collaboratively with a team of Homeroom teachers to ensure each student’s academic, spiritual, emotional and physical wellbeing is supported. </p><p>Reporting directly to the Assistant Principal, the Leader of Pastoral Care: </p><ul><li>Provides leadership necessary for Homeroom Teachers to discern the special talents and nurture and support the learning of students in their care</li><li>Ensures an all pervading sense of House and year group spirit</li><li>Displays loyalty towards, and is supportive of College Leaders</li><li>Understands the demands/requirements of the role in its entirety</li><li>Works collaboratively and positively within the Wellbeing Team </li><li>Liaises daily with the Director of Wellbeing/Assistant Wellbeing Coordinator and supports the continued implementation of wellbeing initiatives.</li></ul><p>As a group, the Leaders of Pastoral Care work collaboratively with the College counsellor and Allied Health agencies beyond the College to strengthen a positive culture of learner agency at the College. </p><p><b>Key Selection Criteria:</b></p><ul><li>Support the Principal in the ministry of leadership, reflecting the mission of the Church by modelling respectful relationships with colleagues, students and families</li><li>Ensures students and their families are well known within their year group</li><li>At least 6 - 10 years experience </li><li>Maintain a relational approach to team building through collaboration and critical thinking</li><li>Foster an innovative mindset which supports best practice in pastoral care</li><li>Proactive in all aspects of dealing with student pastoral care, behaviour management and adherence to all College policies by students</li><li>Model highly accomplished approaches to student wellbeing, understanding clear boundaries</li><li>Possess high level communication skills and interpersonal skills including empathy and confidentiality</li><li>Ability to engage in difficult conversations with staff, parents and students to support student wellbeing</li><li>Undertake professional learning as a connected educator who contributes to the ongoing development of our wellbeing ecosystem</li><li>Support homeroom teachers to provide the highest levels of care for students</li><li>Initiate and engage in professional discussions with colleagues in a range of forums to evaluate wellbeing practice to improve educational outcomes of students</li><li>Understands the role is ever changing due to the complexity of emotions and situations dealt with and can adapt and manage time effectively</li><li>Understands the role supports the Principal in enhancing the vision and mission of the College and works to positively enact that vision as a key Middle Leader in the College. </li></ul><p><b><a href="https://forms.gle/ma3Mn3c7FGT578m98" rel="nofollow">Teacher Application Form</a></b></p><p>Interviews may commence prior to the closing date.<br /></p><p> </p><p><b><u>Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.</u></b></p><p><a href="https://youtu.be/qZyNxJu-j9M" rel="nofollow">Check us out</a></p>
