<p><b>FULL TIME| INITIAL 2 YEAR CONTRACT | COMMENCING 16 JANUARY 2023 </b></p><p><b>SALARY: $131,127 P.A. PLUS SUPER</b></p><p>Ltyentye Apurte Catholic School (LACS) is a K - 12 school in Ltyentye Apurte / Santa Teresa, an Aboriginal settlement of approximately 600 people belonging to the Eastern Arrernte people. The community is located roughly 83 km southeast of Alice Springs - on the north-western tip of the Simpson Desert. </p><p>The people speak Arrernte and use English as their second language. Ltyentye Apurte (pronounced &#39;L-Ginga Porter&#39;) means &#39;clump of beefwood trees&#39; in Arrernte. The school is governed by the Catholic Education Office, Diocese of Darwin. Marist Brothers have a presence in the school community. There are 45 staff at the school, 28 of whom are Aboriginal. The school has an enrolment of approx. 135 students.</p><p>The Deputy Principal holds a senior leadership position in a Catholic School. The Deputy Principal is called to be a person of faith and vision based on Catholic values who has the capacity to communicate this vision to others in the school community so that it is shared and inclusive. </p><p>Particular responsibilities of the Deputy Principal include deputising for the Principal, leadership of school administration and timetabling, leadership of student wellbeing and positive behaviour, leadership of school administration (including daily operation of the school, timetables and rosters, overseeing the Canteen Manager) and pastoral care and wellbeing.</p><p>A commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education is an essential requirement. </p><p>This position involves working with children.
