We are seeking a passionate and motivated Studies of Religion Teacher (Stage 6) to join our supportive team of teachers on a Permanent Full Time basis.

As a faith community we encourage our students to be active and responsible community members guided by the ethos of Saint Mary of the Cross, ‘never see a need without doing something about it.’</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>About the opportunity:</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">We are seeking a passionate and motivated Studies of Religion Teacher (Stage 6) to join our supportive team of teachers on a Permanent Full Time basis.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">More specifically you will:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Demonstrate understanding of the curriculum and the Theology by which it is underpinned, by knowing key concepts, skills, pedagogy, subject specific literacy and language and current issues pertaining to Religious Education.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Teachers are able to critically select each of these appropriate to each student's stage of development and challenge students to be witnesses of faith by providing them appropriate activities in formation.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Teachers of Religious Education plan for and implement effective learning and teaching by negotiating with students to develop individual, explicit, challenging and achievable learning goals.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">This teacher designs conceptually coherent learning programmes using research evidence and appropriate teaching strategies.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Analyses and evaluates a student's learning by using a range of strategies for providing feedback in relation to the student's current and future learning.</p> </li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>About you:</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">The ability to cater for students with diverse backgrounds, needs and abilities</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">You maintain industry currency, share your passion for learning and are an expert in your field</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearance</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Tertiary Qualification</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Statements of Service<br><br></p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr">We believe that our employee community is a key strength of our organisation and we aim to attract the best talent to achieve our strategic goal of being leaders in quality, faith-based education and an Employer of Choice in our sector.
