St Luke's is seeking a K-12 Diversity Leader to join our team. This is a permanent/full-time role to commence in Term 4, 2022, or Term 1 2023 by negotiation. This role attracts a 3 point paid allowance.

As a ‘next generation Catholic Learning Community’ we are designing and establishing the ‘new normal’ for preschool to post school learning in an environment characterised by a flexible, stage based curriculum which nurtures and grows faith-filled, curious children to become creative contributors and innovative problem solvers for a changing world. In 2021, we currently enrol over 1220 students from Kindergarten to Year 10 in addition to the 77 place long day centre which commenced in February, 2018.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr"><span style="color: #0000ff"><strong>Role Accountabilities&nbsp;</strong></span></p> <p dir="ltr">As part of designing and establishing the new normal for preschool to post school, the Diversity Leader (K-12) liaises with the Principal and other K-12 Leaders to establish a team of specialists who understand that all students can learn, and, given the appropriate assistance, all teachers can meet the diverse learning and wellbeing needs of students.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">The Diversity Leader (K-12) actively supports the Leadership Team to promote diversity within the St Luke’s Catholic learning community. The Diversity Leader leads a specialist team who ensures an agile and integrated approach to student needs across Kindergarten to Year 12. With relevant qualifications and experience in a school setting, the Diversity Leader (K-12) will have proven skills in written and oral communication to assist with building relationships with all stakeholders, most notably parents. With an ability to guide and coach both leaders and teachers, the Diversity Leader (K-12):</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Gives witness to the Catholic faith and exemplifies gospel values in their leadership and professional relationships.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Contributes to the delivery of the system strategic intent within the local school context.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Designs, establishes and leads the implementation of a contemporary diversity framework.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Identifies and coordinates internal and external stakeholders, support services and agencies to respond to the complex needs of students and families.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Uses data to support evidence-based practice.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Fosters a culture of collaboration and shared responsibility across the school.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Ensures tracking, reporting and compliance of assigned areas of responsibility and components of registration and accreditation in accordance with school, system and legislative requirements.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Engages in continuous learning and contributes positively to a collaborative and respectful working environment.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Contributes and adheres to school policies and protocols and identifies and reports risks.</p> </li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr"><span style="color: #0000ff"><strong>Requirements of the Role.</strong></span> The successful applicant will:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Support the Principal and Leadership Team in the ministry of leadership, reflecting the mission of the Church by modelling respectful relationships with colleagues, students, families and enterprise partners.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Maintain a relational approach to team building through collaboration and critical thinking to deepen each person’s understanding of an inclusive community.</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Possess high level communication skills and interpersonal skills including empathy and confidentiality.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Undertake and model professional learning as a connected educator in a global world.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Lead with an innovative mindset and courageously explore, trial and engage with new approaches to&nbsp; Diversity.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Promote a culture where enrolments of students with additional learning needs are welcomed.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Honour a professional full-time load made up of teaching, coaching and release/planning.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Relevant qualifications and experience.</p> </li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr"><span style="color: #0000ff"><strong>Functions of the Role.</strong></span> The successful applicant will:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Lead the work of Diversity Coordinators, Diversity Teachers and Teacher Assistants and ensure coherence and consistency across K-12</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Provide Professional Learning for teachers at Professional Learning Meetings (PLMs)</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">With Diversity Coordinators, provide 1:1 Professional Development for teachers.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Oversee the provision of Personal Plans for students in Kindergarten to Year 12.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Ensure adjustments are annotated in teaching programs.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Liaise with relevant leaders regarding Case Management processes.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Ensure processes are established and maintained for the identification of students requiring additional support.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Ensure referral and other processes are connected with the CEDP student services team.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Ensure Tier 3 level of support for students (TLP).</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Support the Principal, Heads of School and Assistant Principals with key learning strategies including teaching EALD learners.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Work with teachers in the development of adjustments appropriate for individual students K-12 based on Personal Plan goals &amp;
