This newly created position within the Mission and Learning Team, supports schools in inquiry cycle improvement planning and in the building of strong teams to help schools realise system and school improvement goals.

<p><b>Position</b></p><p>Temporary full-time, 3 year contract.  </p><p><br /></p><p><b>Position Purpose </b></p><p>The first function of those who work in Catholic schools is to accept and promote a collective responsibility for improving the conditions of faith development, teaching, learning and wellbeing. Foundational to this improvement work is the shared desired outcome of students feeling connected to their school, aware of the collective focus on their learning and wellbeing, and feeling valued, hopeful and safe because of this connection and focus. (Living Well, Learning Well)</p><p><br /></p><p>The Subject Matter Expert (SME): Strong Teams, Leadership Coaching and Student Agency supports schools in inquiry cycle improvement planning and in the building of strong teams to help schools realise system and school improvement goals. The first focus is on developing teams to do meaningful work specific to the context and needs of the school setting and within the broad purpose of improving conditions for learning, teaching, faith development and wellbeing. The second focus is on making the dispositions, capabilities, successes and impacts of highly effective teams visible and measurable in schools, and in doing so promoting teams and teamwork as the preferred mode of professional practice in Diocesan schools. </p><p><br /></p><p>The successful applicant would work collaboratively with the Mission and Learning Team and School and System leaders. Derived from CSO and School Annual Improvement Plans, potential team and role focus could include: </p><ul><li>Middle Leader and Middle Leader team capacity building. </li><li>KLA, House, Inclusion and other staff team capacity building. </li><li>Supporting the fidelity of introduction and embedding of the Living Well, Learning Well Framework. </li><li>Student agency and connection to school. </li><li>Instructional coherence. </li><li>Pedagogical and leadership coaching. </li><li>Building data literacy and data-use capability. </li></ul><p><br /></p><p>The SME: Strong Teams, Leadership Coaching and Student Agency has a deep understanding of improvement planning, inquiry cycle planning and practice, effective leadership and middle leadership, pedagogical coaching, ecological approaches to student support, student voice, collaborative professionalism, pedagogy and the use of data to measure impact. The successful applicant will demonstrate a capacity to positively influence leaders and teachers to change practice to improve conditions for teaching, learning, faith development and wellbeing. </p><p><b><br /></b></p><p><b>Commencement </b></p><p>The commencement date for this position will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
