The College develops in students an enthusiasm for learning and provides a strong focus on academic achievement across the disciplines. </p><p>The personal development of our students as ‘Lakes Learners’ is shaped and nurtured through a holistic Wellbeing Program, including opportunities for spiritual development within a Christ-centred community, designed to build the confidence, resilience, character, needed to lead lives of meaning and purpose. </p><p><b>ABOUT THE ROLE </b></p><p>The Deputy Principal - People and Culture is the strategic leader for staff and student wellbeing. Establishing a culture of excellence, you will ensure the maintenance of a supportive and safe school environment that engenders a community of Belonging, Believing and for Becoming. </p><p>Key responsibilities: </p><ul><li>Deputised as Principal as required. </li><li>Foster and maintain our College Culture ensuring our College character and brand are sustained and celebrated, as we strive to be a light in the heart of North Lakes. </li><li>Lead the daily operational management of the College with the support of sub-school teams, ensuring the delivery and maintenance of teaching and learning opportunities within the College calendar. </li><li>Lead with inclusivity, fostering a respectful understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other cultures within our community, strengthening relationships, and celebrating our diversity. </li><li>Lead and support a Prep to Year 12 approach to student relational management, pastoral practices, and students and staff wellbeing that is focused on growing a culture in support of future ready graduates. </li><li>Lead a whole of College approach to restorative practices equipping staff, students, and parents with relational tools to navigate life. </li><li>Lead the College network of care that seeks to create and maintain an environment that is a safe place for young people to learn. </li><li>Ensure the student and community voice has a place in decision making through intentional engagement with students, parents, and carers. </li></ul><p><b>ABOUT YOU </b></p><p>Your love of education will drive you as you look to continually support your students and staff and the outcomes they are wanting to achieve. As a member of the Senior Executive of The Lakes College, your leadership will be relational, influential, and impactful. </p><ul><li>To be successful in this role we expect that you can demonstrate: </li><li>Experience in driving wellbeing, pastoral care programs, and safeguarding outcomes. </li><li>Connection and collaboration through strong interpersonal skills used to engage, persuade, inspire, and lead others to reach desired outcomes. </li><li>Experience in a leadership role, that has included successfully supporting change and project management. </li><li>Extensive pedagogical expertise in an educational context, including leadership, operational and organisational roles. </li><li>A commitment to the Uniting Church Christian ethos within the College, through mission and service leadership. </li><li>Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. </li><li>Well-organised, with the ability to meet deadlines. </li><li>Academic qualifications and eligibility for registration with the Queensland of College of Teachers. </li><li>A commitment to and participation in the ‘Beyond’ extra-curricular programs of the College, including attendance at camps and support for out-of-hours activities.</li></ul><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
