The College opened in January 2021 with 96 Year 7 students and will increase by one year level each year until it reaches Year 12. It has been designed with a focus on “integral ecology”, with the development over time of an eco-science precinct. Its Catholic identity is enriched through a Franciscan spirituality. </p><p><b>Do I have to be Catholic to teach? </b></p><p>All BCE teachers must have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education. Our teachers who teach Religious Education are required to be Catholic and attain <a href="https://www.bne.catholic.edu.au/bce-employment/teaching/Pages/Teacher-Accreditation.aspx" rel="nofollow">Accreditation to teach Religion in a Catholic school</a>. Not accredited? Thats okay, well support you to achieve this after you start with us.
