A full-time teacher of Humanities specialising in Philosophy is required to teach principally in the Philosophy and Religious Studies (PRS) department of the Individuals and Societies faculty. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a range of courses including IGCSE Religious Studies, IBDP Philosophy with the possibility of IBDP TOK, and lower school MYP Integrated Humanities.

<p>Island School is a highly successful IB school located in the heart of Hong Kong. 1200 students aged 11 to 18 study an innovative and exciting curriculum combining our self-designed courses, the MYP, IGCSE, IBCP, IBDP and BTEC programs. In August 2022, Island School has returned to our brand new campus in the middle of the Hong Kong Central Business District with world-class facilities. </p><p>A deputy head of the phase role may be possible for this position (a teaching and responsibility of TLR1). </p><p>The Individual and Societies faculty comprises the History, Global Politics, Geography, PRS, Psychology, Economics and Business departments. The faculty enjoys a positive and collaborative working environment with excellent examination results. </p><p>The philosophy of the faculty centres around creative and collaborative working practices, and a commitment to continual professional development. We pride ourselves on our ability to achieve fantastic exam results whilst also promoting skill and character development. </p><p>We operate a 1 to 1 laptop program throughout the school and all teachers should be committed to making the most of these resources in the teaching of their subjects. Online learning, blended learning, and flipped learning styles are also promoted throughout the school and teachers are expected to promote these practices.</p><p>The co-curricular program is an important part of Island school life and all teachers are involved in some activities that are offered to students outside lesson time.
