We have an exciting opportunity for a cook to join our friendly school community within a Kitchen Coordinator capacity.

We endeavour to employ people that have the drive and motivation to work towards successful outcomes for our young people. </p><p><b>What is the role? </b></p><p>The role of the Kitchen Coordinator role is the preparation and provision of meals to the young people who attend the Flexible Learning Centre. </p><p><b>Key Responsibilities include: </b></p><ul><li>Provide breakfast and lunch to the school community in accordance with the Queensland department of Education and training guidelines, SMART CHOICES </li><li>Application of food safe practices in the preparation, storage and provision of meal </li><li>Develop weekly meal plans that meet budgetary requirements as advised by the Head of Campus </li><li>Assisting young people with food preparation in collaboration with other staff members at the school </li><li>Building relationships with stakeholders around food donations (OzHarvest, Second Bite) </li></ul><p><b>About you: </b></p><ul><li>Certificate level qualification and/or previous equivalent experience in the hospitality industry </li><li>Hold or ability to obtain a Food Supervisors Certificate (in initial six months of employment) </li><li>Applicants must hold or have the ability to attain a current Blue Card before commencement as per the No Card No Start Blue Card system legislation (https://www.qld.gov.au/law/laws-regulated-industries-and-accountability/queensland-laws-and-regulations/regulated-industries-and-licensing/blue-card-services) </li><li>Computer literacy </li><li>It is a preferred that the applicant hold a current ‘C’ drivers licence </li></ul><p><b>For full details of the position please refer to the Position Description which can be obtained by clicking &#39;Apply for job&#39; to be transferred to our external application portal. </b></p><p><b>Employee benefits include: </b></p><ul><li>Superannuation up to 12.75% employer contribution (if an employee co-contribution is made) </li><li>Salary Sacrificing options </li><li>Induction, Wellbeing and Professional Development Opportunities </li><li>Dedicated support to assist staff </li></ul><p><b>Applications will be reviewed and shortlisted as they are received </b></p><p>Our organisation supports the rights of children and young people and is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment directed at ensuring their safety and wellbeing. </p><p>All applications for this position will be subjected to screening procedures as detailed in the Commission of Children and Young people and Childs Guardian legislation.
