Xavier College is a coeducational Catholic Secondary School offering an educational experience modelled on the life of St Francis Xavier; an experience defined by caring, understanding, respect and personal achievement, firmly grounded in the Catholic ethos. This role requires establishing opportunities for students to engage with trade organisations, businesses and other community groups in order to develop real world experience and skills through our trade pathways program. This role requires developing strategic, mutually beneficial relationships with trade organisations and other community stakeholders for the purpose of enhancing student learning as a result of the VET and other courses studied. At Xavier we build the capacity of students and teachers in order that they may exceed their own expectations.</p> <p><strong>Position Criteria</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Be an effective classroom teacher, with a passion for leading &amp; teaching VET.</li> <li>Have thorough knowledge and experience of teaching VET &amp; Technology and Applied Studies</li> <li>Be confident in developing partnerships with industry to support the several VET pathways offered &nbsp;at Xavier for Year 10, 11 and 12 students.</li> <li>Bring to the fore a wide range of pedagogical skills, including the utilisation of technologies, to develop pathways and partnerships to promote VET courses across the College</li> <li>An ability to assist the CEDP VET Leader of Learning with work placement, curriculum and compliance</li> <li>Be committed to the Catholic Ethos of the College</li> </ul> <p><strong>The Organisation</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 83 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out of school hours care centres in Western Sydney.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment including the completion of a National Police Check, retention of a valid Working with Children Check and adoption and compliance with CEDP’s Child Safeguarding Procedures and Code of Conduct When Working With Students and Children.</p> <p dir="ltr">CEDP promotes the safety and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, and children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds.
