<p><b>Role Purpose </b></p><p>The role supports student wellbeing by providing counselling services and referrals; offering emotional-social support to our community, as well as facilitating small social skills groups for students. This position is part of a wellbeing team where there are opportunities for and ongoing professional development. </p><p><b>Key Selection Criteria<br /></b>Counsellors at The Hills Christian Community School must demonstrate the ability to:</p><ul><li>Offer confidential counselling of students, parents/guardians and families experiencing personal, relational, social, or professional difficulties. </li><li>Offer support and advocacy to students, staff, and parents/guardians when needed, both during and out of school hours. </li><li>Be involved with critical incident response and critical incident debriefing and counselling at both personal and community level. </li><li>Refer students and families to external agencies where needed. </li><li>Work closely with parents/guardians and others involved with students experiencing difficulties. </li><li>Nurture positive relationships with students, staff and families.</li></ul><div><b>Pre-Requisites/Qualifications</b><br /></div><p>These qualifications/certificates are required prior to commencing employment at HILLS and must be updated for the duration of employments at HILLS (please provide copy with application):</p><ul><li>Relevant Qualification in Counselling, Social Work or Psychology</li><li>Current Working with Children’s Check (WWCC)        <br /></li><li>Current Responding to Risks of Abuse &amp; Neglect Certificate (RRHAN-EC)</li><li> Current First Aid Certificate </li><li>Current Driver’s Licence<br /><i>HILLS requires disclosure of COVID-19 vaccination status for the purpose of Health &amp; Safety requirements.</i></li></ul><p><b>Application Process</b><br /></p><p>Please refer to the Application Instructions below or our website <a href="www.hills.sa.edu.au/employment" rel="nofollow">www.hills.sa.edu.au/employment</a></p>
