The Visual Arts Teacher has a key role in the academic, pastoral and spiritual life of the College, and is reportable to the Head of Visual Arts.

We invite applications from suitably qualitied teachers who have a well-developed capacity to support our team and take forward the mission of Catholic schools to ensure high quality education to maximise learning outcomes for all student.</div><div><br /></div><p>To be successful for the position of permanent full time position as teacher of Visual Arts, you will need to possess and demonstrate the following key selection criteria:</p><p><b>Key Selection Criteria:</b></p><p> </p><ul><li>Ability to teach Stage 4-6 Visual Arts</li><li>A strong knowledge base of the subject’s content and ability to devise interesting and engaging lessons to enhance learning and achievement for all students</li><li>Exemplary classroom practice: utilising a range of effective contemporary pedagogies, use of technology, delivery of assessment and feedback</li><li>Able to motivate students across a range of interests and abilities to achieve and develop a life-long love of learning</li><li>Committed to the continual improvement of your teaching practice and take opportunities for personal and professional development - be goal oriented, highly organised, passionate about the education of young people</li><li>A proven ability to work creatively and collaboratively within the faculty and contribute towards a team environment</li></ul><p><b>Role Duties and Responsibilities: </b></p><ul><li>Meet regularly with the Head of Visual Arts to discuss class and student progress and achievement</li><li>Contribute to the review, preparation and delivery of quality assessment tasks, programming and reports including outcomes and course outlines in support with the Head of Visual Arts</li><li>Implement the College’s pedagogy, assessment and reporting approaches</li><li>Organise assigned excursions, incursions and co-curricular programs</li><li>Support in the curation and preparation of a Visual Arts Department Exhibition</li><li>Provide input into Information Booklets, Newsletters and Yearbook content for the department</li><li>Support and execute other department directed programs, initiatives and duties as they arise</li></ul><p><b>Attributes</b>: </p><p>To be successful in the role you require:</p><ul><li>Tertiary qualifications in Education (Teaching) in the applicable learning area and hold the appropriate NESA accreditation</li><li>Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation – Working with Children Check clearance</li><li>To be actively supportive of the Catholic mission and ethos and involved in Catholic life and values of Brigidine College</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively across the whole school as you develop positive relationships, fostering a culture of collaboration and inquiry</li></ul><p><b>Other Duties: </b></p><ul><li>Promote the standards and goals of the College within the school and broader College community. </li><li>Positively contribute to and work as an effective team member, collaborating with staff and parents, having the ability to encourage positive team commitment and contributions</li><li>Demonstrate commitment to the Pastoral Care of students</li><li>Complete any other assigned tasks as directed by the Principal</li></ul><p><b>Specific Information: </b></p><ul><li>All staff are supplied with laptops and are expected have proficiency in their use of ICT</li><li>In addition to face-to-face teaching you will have other duties such as: staff meetings, co-curricular activities, and taking part in college community activities. You will also be involved in the Colleges program for spiritual and pastoral care.
