<p>The position is a par-time, fixed term contract, with the possibility of an ongoing contract in 2024 and will begin at the commencement of the 2023 school year. </p><p>An exciting opportunity awaits all interested applicants. St Monica’s Footscray is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic Physical Education teacher to join our school as we are committed to reimagining our provision and implementation of our PE and Health curriculum. Applicants will possess the skills and abilities necessary to provide students with a rich and rewarding educational experience embracing our collaborative approach to teaching and learning.</p><p>The position is 0.6 FTE due to school circumstances. The primary focus of the role is the dynamic planning and teaching of Physical Education and Health lessons for Prep to Year 6 classes and the coordination of school programs and community events (including but not limited to organising a school sports/athletics carnival and facilitating St Monica’s position in an Inter-school Sport competition). This teaching position may also also include an additional day as a classroom replacement for 1 day each week on a specified day. </p><p>Experienced teachers of Physical &amp; Sport Education or Graduate teachers with appropriate degrees in Physical and Sports Education are both welcome to apply. Formal qualification and or experience in the teaching of fundamental motor skills is preferred and pre-requisites include VIT Registration and demonstrated commitment to contemporary pedagogy, collaborative planning and team orientation. </p><p><b>The successful applicant will be required to: </b></p><p>• support the Catholic ethos of the school </p><p>• display a strong knowledge of the Physical education and Health Victorian Curriculum </p><p>• provide engaging learning opportunities for our Physical education and Health programs </p><p>• build and maintain positive respectful relationships with students, colleagues and parents </p><p>• work flexibly and collaboratively within staff teams </p><p>• have highly effective organisational and communication skills </p><p>• be committed to professional learning and ongoing improvement. </p><p>The St. Monica’s Community is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care and expects the successful applicant to possess the same commitment.Selection Criteria<br /></p><p><b>Written applications should address the following selection criteria: </b></p><p>• create a vibrant Physical Education learning environment in which all learners are engaged, motivated and challenged </p><p>• knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum to deliver the appropriate curriculum to a range of educational abilities within each class </p><p>• have experience analysing a range of student data to target individual needs and planning for differentiated learning in Physical Education </p><p>• demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills and a willingness to prepare students for sporting events </p><p>• embrace opportunities to work professionally, collaboratively and enthusiastically with colleagues, students and parents to build and maintain positive relationships with all in our community </p><p>• liaise with outside agencies to develop community partnerships. </p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p> </p>
