<p><b>HEAD OF FINANCE</b></p><p>Reporting to the Head of College, the Head of Finance is responsible for embedding robust financial management processes to shape insight led business performance and deliver operational results. The Head of Finance will run the administration, business, and financial affairs of the College managing a small team of financial analysts and bookkeepers. </p><p>You will be a trusted business advisor managing a diverse group of stakeholders across St Mark’s College and the Coptic Education Board, NESA, government departments and the Association of Independent Schools among other external agencies.</p><p><b>KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY</b></p><p><b>Business and Financial Management </b></p><p>• Preparation of all budgets and forecasts </p><p>• Income and Expense Management </p><p>• Management Reporting and Cadence </p><p>• Payroll, Superannuation etc </p><p>• Overseeing Accounts Payable </p><p>• School Fee’s Management and Assistance </p><p>• Business Administration including insurances, asset registers </p><p>• Preparation and submission of statutory and government returns </p><p>• State and Commonwealth grant schemes management </p><p>• Annual Quarterly Reporting and Audits </p><p>• Management of the preparation of the Annual reports </p><p>• Building robust processes and controls </p><p>• Management of donations</p><p><b>Management and leadership of staff </b></p><ul><li>In the area of management and leadership of staff the Head of Finance is responsible for leading and building the administration team, driving efficiency, transparency, and best practice.</li><li>Planning and building effective procedures and internal controls, to achieve operational excellence across the College.</li><li>Creating a culture that fosters innovation and big thinkers and an environment that allows individuals to flourish and do their best work.</li></ul><p><b>ABOUT YOU</b></p><p>You are an experienced senior Finance Manager ready to take the next step in your career and undertake all aspects of financial management, including accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, governance and process management and implementation. </p><ul><li>You are a strategic thinker with strong decision-making skills and the ability to manage resources efficiently, effectively.</li><li>You are ready to be part of the school’s executive team providing, expertise, shared decision making, collaboration, and accountability.</li><li>Strong relationship building and communication skills written and verbal.</li><li>Ability to partner with teaching and administrative staff to achieve positive outcomes for the College.</li><li>Ability to build financial capabilities among staff to manage their department budgets.</li><li>Ability to lead and empower staff towards being effective contributors to the College financial growth.</li><li>Ability to navigate competing priorities.</li><li>Ability to analyse and solve problems and make data-driven decisions.</li></ul><p>Qualifications and Experience</p><ul><li>Formal qualifications and professional accreditation (CPA or CA).</li><li>8-15 years’ experience working in finance.</li><li>Prior management experience is essential and experience working in a school or education environment is desirable.</li><li>MYOB experience essential.</li><li>Required to have a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance.</li></ul><p>Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia, have a current Working with Children Check and be fully vaccinated.
