With over 5000 passionate employees located across 83 primary and secondary schools, we have the intent and the resources to transform the learning and unlock the full potential of each of our 40,000 plus students.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">Applications are invited from outstanding educators to apply for the position of Specialist Teacher, as a valued member of the Behaviour Support and MLZ team, which sits within the Wellbeing Directorate.</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>About the Role:</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">The role of the Specialist Teacher - Behaviour Support Team &amp; MLZ is to assist in the management of the behavioural needs of identified students.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Marist Learning Zone - Mount Druitt</strong> aims to provide assistance to students from Year 6 to Year 12 who have been disengaged from participating in a formal school setting. You will be working towards encouraging students to return to formal education, and assisting them to gain skills in order to enter or return to the workforce.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Main Duties:</strong></p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Work with the school team to build their capacity (including classroom teacher and Leadership Team) and CEDP specialist teams to implement recommendations from the tier 3 behaviour support plan/ risk management plan.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Initially, provide 1:1 support for students displaying complex and challenging behaviour within the school environment, with a view of working towards gradual release. Through building the capacity of the teaching staff to manage behaviours. This work will also include working with small cohorts of students.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Involvement in the review of the behaviour support plan with school team and CEDP specialist team personnel.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">The successful candidate will be expected to work school hours, as well as provide 1:1 supervision to allocated students during recess and lunch breaks, as per the behaviour support plan. Attendance at weekly team meetings with the Behaviour and Specialist Programs team, as well as attend school staff meetings is also an expectation of the role.</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Important Considerations about the role:</strong></p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">The successful candidate will be a member of the Behaviour and Specialist Programs Team, which is made up of Wellbeing Leading Counsellors and Leading Teachers, this specialist team is part of the newly established Wellbeing Directorate.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">The successful candidate will be expected to travel to any of the 83 schools within the Catholic Diocese of Parramatta.
