Lorien Novalis School is seeking an Outdoor Education Coordinator to support and further develop the school’s extensive Field Trip Program. The incumbent will lead the ongoing development and implementation of Field Trip Program at Lorien Novalis. Reporting to the Head of School, this position works collaboratively with the school’s Primary and Secondary Faculties, Class teachers and Guardians.

<p>This position could suit either an experienced teacher/guide/instructor or a new graduate. What is the most important aspect is that we seek a person with a genuine love and passion for the outdoors who can lead the whole school by the nature of their enthusiasm respecting an Education that fosters the human spirit in children and young adults, allowing them to flourish in a holistic learning environment. </p><p>The school can offer the successful applicant ongoing mentoring depending on their level of experience. </p><p>Key Responsibilities </p><p>• The Outdoor Education Coordinator will have primary responsibility for the outdoor education program for primary and secondary school students. This position includes a mix of responsibilities including program development, implementation evaluation, and administrative responsibilities, including identifying destinations, obtaining necessary permits, organizing transportation, and ensuring safety and communications protocols as per the schools policies and guidelines. </p><p>• In collaboration with Class Teachers and Guardians, plan and implement class field trips that support their class learning Program. </p><p>• Work with faculty to integrate the schools Field Trip/ Outdoor education program into the classroom curriculum. The role will be responsible for planning and administrative functions of all Field Trips including budget and communications. </p><p>• Collaborate with the school’s Health and Safety Committee to ensure appropriate risk-management systems and procedures are implemented. </p><p>• Organize, catalogue and oversee the use and management of outdoor education equipment and resources </p><p>• Participate in school-based professional learning, including attendance of staff meetings, and take responsibility for ongoing self-study of Steiner Education and Anthroposophy. </p><p>• A willingness to participate in aspects of the Lorien Novalis community, including co-curricular activities such as Festivals, Plays, and Open Days. </p><p>Key Selection Criteria </p><p>• Strong background in Outdoor Education </p><p>• General understanding of the principles and practices of Steiner education. </p><p>• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills. </p><p>• Experience of working in teams and ability to be a willing and enthusiastic team member. </p><p>• Proven commitment to ongoing professional learning. </p><p><br /></p><p> </p><p> </p>
