We are seeking a Team Leader/Psychologist or School Counsellor to join our Wellbeing Team. This position is also available as a Team Leader for this Staff Group.

<p><b>About the College </b></p><p> </p><p>As a Catholic School, Thomas Carr College aims to educate our students with an appreciation of the spiritual as well as the intellectual and physical aspects of their lives. We aim to work with our parents to produce young people of faith and character. We are a Catholic Co-educational College in Tarneit, west of Melbourne with 1180 students, serving the Parishes of St Peter the Apostle and St James the Apostle, located in Hoppers Crossing.</p><p><b>Areas of Responsibility</b></p><ul><li>Provides a counselling service and undertakes individual support where appropriate to students and families of the College community </li><li>Provides leadership in the development and implementation of relevant College policies, procedures and programs with a focus on enhancing the wellbeing and mental health of the students and school community, particularly those at risk </li><li>Establishes and maintains links with relevant community support agencies, allied professionals and school networks with a view to optimising services available for students that focus on primary prevention, early intervention and continuity of care </li><li>Consults with the Deputy Principal – Student Engagement &amp; Wellbeing in developing and implementing a range of professional learning programs for staff and a whole school approach that focuses on student wellbeing and mental health </li><li>Acts as the leading Counselling Team consultant to teachers and families on matters relating to student wellbeing and development </li><li>Responsible for weekly intake meetings and oversees the allocation of cases </li><li>Receives and manages referrals </li><li>In conjunction with the Deputy Principal – Student Engagement &amp; Wellbeing provides professional learning and direction to staff </li><li>Is aware of current student wellbeing and mental health issues </li><li>Provides wellbeing and mental health leadership in the management of students at risk, in conjunction with the relevant Year Level and House Leaders and the Director of Students </li><li>Provides reports each term that includes statistics about student wellbeing and mental health trends </li><li>As directed by the Principal, Deputy Principal and/or Director of Students, carry out any other duties deemed to be within the incumbent’s skill, competence and training </li><li>Ensures the Counselling Team provides effective customer service and support. at all times when dealing with parents, students, staff, contractors and the general public </li><li>Works collaboratively with staff, students and families </li></ul><p><b>To apply for this position</b><br /></p><p> </p><p>All applications are to include 3 referees, the applicant&#39;s CV and the Thomas Carr College application form located on the <b>About Our College </b>section of the College website: <a href="https://www.thomascarr.vic.edu.au/Employment" rel="nofollow">https://www.thomascarr.vic.edu.au/about/employment/</a><br /></p><p>Applications close Wednesday 17 August 2022 at 9.00am.</p><p> </p><p> </p>
