<p>Aquinas Catholic College is seeking Expressions of Interest for the position of Presiding Officer for the 2022 Higher School Certificate. </p><p><b>Position Criteria </b></p><p>The Presiding Officer is responsible for managing the preparation, conduct and supervision of the Higher School Certificate (HSC) examinations. As Presiding Officer, you will need to be able to use common desktop computer packages (Excel, websites and Word), be well-organised; show good attention to detail; be able to manage students and effectively organise and supervise the examination supervisors. </p><p><b> Position Information </b></p><p> The Presiding Officer is responsible for: </p><ul><li> liaising with the school Principal or delegate for the exam rooms, set-up, including provision for extra students and additional rooms if required for examinations with a listening component or students granted disability provisions </li><li>following all directions which have been given by NESA about security and administrative procedures </li><li>maintaining security at all times of the examination papers and materials </li><li>maintaining a high level of confidentiality at all times </li><li>following and observing NESA’s Policies and Procedures regarding disability provisions and illness/misadventure applications </li><li>following and observing all Child Protection, Emergency Evacuation and Workplace Health and Safety procedures and policies. </li></ul><p><b>Essential Requirements </b></p><p>The presiding officer must: </p><ul><li>have a current Working With Children’s Check (WWCC) clearance for employment (For further details on this requirement and how to obtain a WWC number please visit the Office of the Children’s Guardian website: http://www.kids.nsw.gov.au/Working-with-children) </li><li>have an email address and mobile number </li><li>use a vehicle with comprehensive motor vehicle insurance policy </li><li>is available for the ENTIRE exam period </li><li>have intermediate working knowledge of common computer programs and tasks, such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, emails, downloading documents etc </li><li>be well-organised </li><li>have good attention to detail </li><li>be able to effectively manage students and a team of supervisors. </li></ul><p>The Presiding Officer will need to be available to supervise the official external HSC Exams from Tuesday 11 October 2022 to Friday 3 November 2022. </p><p><b>Special Notes </b></p><ul><li>The following restrictions on eligibility for employment as a Test Supervisor exist: </li><li>The role of the presiding officer does have a physical requirement. The presiding officer is required to lift and handle exam materials and may also be standing for most of the day. </li><li>A person who has a child or near relative sitting the 2022 Higher School Certificate Examinations cannot be appointed as Presiding Officer. </li><li>Clerical staff, casual, relief, part-time or permanent teachers employed at BHS cannot be appointed as Presiding Officer. </li></ul><p>Interested people should submit a letter of application along with their curriculum vitae, including the contact details of two referees to principal&#64;aquinasmenai.catholic.edu.au </p><p>Applications close 8:30am Monday 15 August 2022. </p><p><br /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
