In addition, the person who fills this position will be recognised as an exemplary teaching practitioner and demonstrate excellence in their own classroom performance.<br /></p><p>The Head of Junior School position is based at our North School of Trinity College.  The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of best practices of teaching, learning and wellbeing approaches.  The position description is attached. <br /></p><p>This Junior School role has the following significant responsibilities:<br /></p><ul><li>Staff leadership, management and care<br /></li><li>Student leadership, management and care</li><li>Community relations</li><li>Curriculum support</li><li>General administration</li></ul><p>Trinity College is a thriving multi-site, independent, co-educational Anglican College founded in a liberal educational tradition and located in the northern Adelaide region. Co-curricular activities (cultural and physical) are part of a total education in a caring, Christian environment.<br /></p><p><b>To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and attributes:</b><br /></p><ul><li>Suitable tertiary qualifications.<br /></li><li>Registered to teach in South Australia or be eligible to obtain registration.</li><li>Have an understanding of and commitment to Christian education.</li><li>Have the desire and skills to participate in the school&#39;s pastoral care programme.</li><li>Have the desire and skills to participate in the College&#39;s co-curricular programme.</li><li>Be passionate about understanding how learning occurs and teaching pedagogies suitable for junior school aged students.</li><li>Be able to build and lead a cohesive staff team with a common vision.</li><li>Have the interpersonal skills to quickly achieve trust and respect from the teaching team.</li><li>Be able to respond positively to the expectations of a modern school.</li><li>Be able to set high standards for student learning and teacher performance.</li><li>Be able to lead other staff in the use of appropriate information and communication tools in classroom pedagogy.</li><li>Have the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people both verbally and in writing.</li><li>Have the knowledge of and a commitment to the principles of equal opportunity and work safety.</li></ul><p>All teachers are expected to support the Christian ethos of the College.
