Edmund Rice College, Wollongong is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified teacher of Science who is thoroughly familiar with the National Science Curriculum 7-12. The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate innovative approaches to the teaching of Science in order to engage and inspire boys in their learning.

Strongly inclusive, the College prides itself on its diversity as it welcomes students from all backgrounds and cultures.</p><p>For further information about Edmund Rice College, please visit our website - www.erc.nsw.edu.au</p><p><b><u><br /></u></b></p><p><b><u>The Role</u></b></p><p>Edmund Rice College, Wollongong is seeking applications for a full-time temporary (12 months) Science Teacher to commence January 2023.</p><p>To be considered for this role, you will need to possess the following: </p><p>• Relevant tertiary qualifications and approval to teach in NSW, specifically appropriate qualifications for the teaching of all courses in Science to HSC level</p><p>• Experience in teaching Biology, Investigating Science or Earth &amp; Environmental Science is desirable</p><p>• An understanding and commitment to the Mission and Ethos of the College </p><p>• The ability to relate to boys and a practical knowledge of boys’ education issues and initiatives</p><p>• Have highly developed interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively with all staff</p><p> </p><p>• Be an innovative and engaging classroom teacher</p><p>• Ability to create a positive learning environment in the classroom and promote student responsibility for learning</p><p>• Commitment to academic excellence </p><p>• Ability to work effectively in a team environment</p><p>• Possess a valid Working with Children Check</p><p>• Knowledge and appreciation of WHS</p><p>• A commitment to the child safeguarding principles.</p><p>• The ability and willingness to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the College</p><p>• The ability to teach Religious Education (desirable)</p><p><i>(Whilst this is a temporary position (12 months), further opportunities may present for permanency in the future)</i></p><p><br /></p><p><b><u>The Process</u></b></p><p>Applications (including CV and covering letter) can be emailed to Jamon Thomas, Human Resources Manager, via jthomas&#64;erc.nsw.edu.au by 22 August 2022.</p><p>The appointment of a successful candidate is conditional and based on the successful completion of all pre-employment screening for child-related employment and reference checks.</p><p>Consistent with Edmund Rice College&#39;s COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, all staff are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (or have an approved medical contraindication which prevents them from receiving any dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine) in order to work at Edmund Rice College.
