The school balances its formal curriculum with an emphasis on creativity, performing arts and creative thinking.<br><br><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>The St Monica’s Before and After School Care program (SMOOSH) operates a service led by a team of qualified, experienced and energetic educators who are highly enthusiastic and enjoy working with children. The centre endeavours to make every child’s experience a positive one, full of fun, creative and affirming. We are seeking an Educator to work with our care team.</p> <p><em> This position is temporary in nature as it replaces an employee who has resigned during the school year and the position will not be filled until the following school year.</em><br><br><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></p> <p>Applicants will be assessed on demonstrated evidence of:</p> <ul> <li>A thorough knowledge of the My Time, Our Place Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards.</li> <li>Proven and effective leadership in the planning, implementation and evaluation of high quality educational and care programs for groups of school age children.</li> <li>A proven capacity to provide inclusive programs, which are based on the recorded observations and interpretation of children’s responses, needs and interests.</li> <li>A sound ability to provide programs, which have a commitment to active involvement of families and local community.</li> <li>A genuine passion for mentoring and leading a team of educators.</li> <li>A proven ability to implement and manage effective administrative systems.</li> <li>Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.</li> <li>Thorough knowledge and understanding of the ACT Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations and the implications of child protection policies.</li> <li>A willingness to support the ethos and mission of Catholic education.<br><br></li> </ul> <p><em>Please refer to the role description for an in-depth detail regarding criteria and skill set required.<br></em><em><br></em></p> <p><strong>Application Process<br><br></strong>Applications are invited from interested candidates able to demonstrate a commitment to the vision of Catholic Education.<br><br>Applicants are required to submit a cover letter and current resume including a statement of suitability against the skills, attributes and experience as outlined in the Position Description.<br><br>This position involves working with children.
