In 2021, The Riverina Anglican College expanded to become a K-12 school community. As such, the College is seeking to appoint a Junior School Chaplain, to serve under the College Chaplain in establishing a chaplaincy ministry and Christian Studies curriculum to the Junior School from 2023.

<p>In 2021, The Riverina Anglican College expanded to become a K-12 school community. As such, the College is seeking to appoint a Junior School Chaplain, to serve under the College Chaplain in establishing a chaplaincy ministry and Christian Studies curriculum to the Junior School from 2023. </p><p>We are seeking to employ a Junior School Chaplain to provide leadership and encouragement and pastoral ministry in our Junior School. The right candidate will be able to gather, inspire, and engage others to connect with Christian Education. They will be an active Christian who understands how to integrate faith and education in relevant and authentic ways within a Junior School context. </p><p>Essential Criteria </p><ul><li>This position is ultimately responsible to the Principal, via the College Chaplain and Head of Junior School. </li><li>The successful applicant must be eligible to work within the ethos and expectations of ministry workers within the Anglican Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn </li><li>The successful applicant must hold a current Working with Children Check </li><li>The successful applicant must hold or be eligible to hold the requisite NSW Educational Standards Authority (NESA) approved teaching qualifications and accreditation. </li></ul><p>Key Attributes </p><ul><li>Love the Lord Jesus and seek to serve Him in all aspects of life </li><li>Gifted in preaching and teaching the gospel to children </li><li>Prayerfully committed to the authority of God’s word as it is revealed in the Scriptures </li><li>Actively support and live out the Christian mission of the College in a manner that is inclusive and sensitive to the life experiences of students, parents and staff </li><li>At all times promote the College’s core Christian values in ways that are practical and accessible </li><li>Promote an integrated model of teaching and service to all aspects of College life </li><li>Reflect a strong commitment to serve others in the College community. </li></ul><p>Key Responsibilities </p><ul><li>Oversee the planning and leading of, and preaching at, Chapel services in the Junior School </li><li>Implementing and teaching a Junior School Christian Studies curriculum </li><li>Teaching some Christian Studies in the Senior School </li><li>Provide learning support and/or teaching release in the Junior School </li><li>Mentoring the Junior Fellowship Captain </li><li>Assisting the College Chaplain with various K-12 services and assemblies, such as Christmas, Easter, ANZAC Day, House Days, Remembrance Day, Presentation Day etc. </li><li>Assist with Senior School Chapel services as requested by the College Chaplain </li><li>Assist with volunteer lunchtime Christian groups in the Junior and/or Senior School </li><li>Participate in weekly Staff Prayer Meetings </li><li>Promote involvement of students with local church youth groups and churches </li><li>Support and promote student involvement in school service activities, programs, tours and visits. </li></ul><p>Teaching and Learning </p><ul><li>Implementing a new Junior School Christian Studies curriculum for 2023 </li><li>Prepare lessons for and teach Christian Studies in the Junior School </li><li>Develop assessment and reporting policies for Christian Studies in the Junior School </li><li>Teach general release lessons in the Junior School </li><li>Assist the integration of Christian perspectives appropriately into the broader curriculum </li><li>Possess knowledge of the NESA policies and be eligible for teacher accreditation </li><li>Liaise with the College Chaplain, Deputy Principal (Teaching, Learning and Innovations) and Head of Junior School on the approach to pedagogy and learning of Junior School students in Christian Studies.</li></ul><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
