Sacred Heart School Kew is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate person to join our Learning Support Officer team and staff. Our school comprises straight year levels, two streamed class structure. <p><b>This Learning Support Officer role is a fixed term position. 20 - 25 hours a week (Days and times will be negotiated with the successful applicant).  </b></p><p><b>This </b><b>role is for the remainder of the 2022 school year (commencing Term 4 or possibly earlier) with the strong possibility of the role continuing in 2023.</b><br /></p><p><b><br /></b></p><p> </p><p> </p><p><b><u>Selection Criteria</u></b></p><p>The Learning Support Officer will demonstrate:</p><ul><li>a strong commitment to the values and ethos of Catholic education</li><li>understanding of, and commitment to, child safety</li><li>the ability to build positive relationships with all members of the school community</li><li>successful collaboration with peers in a team environment to optimise learning for students</li><li>a strong interest and passion in supporting students&#39; learning</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><b><u>Responsibilities may include (please see attached Role Description for further detail)</u></b></p><ul><li>work with teachers in programs for students with additional needs under the direction of the Learning Diversity Leader </li><li>meet regularly with the Learning Diversity Leader to discuss student needs, progress and program provision </li><li>work with students on a one-to-one and/or small group basis </li><li>facilitate small group programs, such as: speech pathology phonics and oral language groups</li><li>liaise with teachers to develop and evaluate the goals and strategies of student’s Personal Learning Plans </li><li>contribute to Parent Support Group (PSG) meetings with the Learning Diversity Leader and teacher(s) in relation to student needs, goals and support </li><li>provide input for student progress reports as required </li><li>assist with transition programs and processes, such as, Kinder to Prep and Year 6 to Year 7</li><li>provide information for submissions on a needs basis </li><li>maintain accurate, up-to-date NCCD progression notes and evidence </li><li>attend professional learning opportunities </li><li>assist with school-based duties</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><b><u>Special Requirements</u></b></p><ul><li>adhere to the Child Safety Standards</li><li>current Working with Children Check</li><li>will hold either a Certificate lll and/or Certificate lV in Education Support</li><li>proficiency with technology, such as iPads and Chromebook</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><b><u>Please provide</u></b></p><ul><li>cover letter and supporting documentation addressing above <b>selection criteria</b></li><li>curriculum vitae (including 3 professional referees and their contact details)<b> </b></li></ul><p><b><br /></b></p><p><b><u>Please note </u></b></p><p>Sacred Heart School Kew reserves the right to appoint before the closing date.</p><p><b> </b></p>
