Use your expertise in K - 6 Curriculum to support teachers in many independent schools.
<p>The Association of Independent Schools of NSW (AISNSW) is the peak body for independent schools in NSW and provides a range of services to independent schools across NSW and the ACT.
</p><p>We are currently seeking a <b>full-time consultant</b> with expertise in the <b>K-6 curriculum</b>, including PDHPE.
</p><p>The Teaching & Learning Portfolio works across all curriculum areas K-12. We have the privilege of providing support to NSW Independent schools through professional learning experiences.
</p><p>The consultant who joins the portfolio will work across the K-6 curriculum, including PDHPE. They will be at the leading edge of the NSW Curriculum Reform as the implementation of the new syllabuses begins. They will also work in our long-term initiatives which support healthy eating and physical activity, and road safety education in primary schools.
</p><p><b>Overview of the Role
</b></p><p>The role of an Education Consultant at AISNSW typically involves designing and delivering professional learning in a variety of ways. These can be face-to-face, remote, bespoke sessions, large conferences and coaching for individuals or groups including school leaders, classroom teachers and professional support staff.
</p><p>Education Consultants are supported within AISNSW to use the principles of Adult Learning Design to create high-quality professional learning experiences.
</p><p>This position will involve supporting teachers and leaders in NSW Independent schools with the implementation of the K-6 curriculum, including all Key Learning Areas. Skills and experience in teaching PDHPE in NSW will be advantageous. The successful applicant will have a thorough understanding of evidence-based approaches to teaching and learning in primary schools.
</p><p>This position also involves working within a small team to provide support to primary schools in road safety education.</p><p><b>You will work both collaboratively and independently to:
</b></p><ul><li>Design and deliver professional learning for teachers in NSW Independent schools; anchored in the principles of adult learning
</li><li>Represent AISNSW and the NSW independent school sector on committees and reference groups</li><li>Contribute to and support the range of projects and activities across the organisation</li><li>Design, share, implement and reflect on practices and approaches that work well to effect change and build capabilities in schools
</li><li>Create and use resources which support schools and teachers
</li><li>Contribute to the organisation of AISNSW events
</li><li>Contribute to the broader work of the Teaching and Learning portfolio.

</b></p><p>You will have:
</p><ul><li>An appreciation of the diversity of independent schools
</li><li>Qualifications, experience and expertise in teaching Primary, and experience in teaching the NSW Curriculum K-6, including the current PDHPE syllabus
</li><li>NSW Working with Children Check
</li><li>NSW Driver’s Licence

</i></p><p><b>General conditions of the role
</b></p><p><b>Hours of Work: </b>The role is full-time. Flexible work arrangements are available that include a combination of working away from the office, as well as dedicated time for collaboration with colleagues in the office. Face-to-face visits to schools are prioritised when considering arrangements of an education consultant’s calendar.
</p><p><b>Annual Leave: </b>Four weeks annual leave is provided
</p><p><b>Travel:</b> State-wide travel is a feature of the role. This often involves spending a night away and may occasionally involve consecutive nights.
</p><p><b>Professional Learning:</b> Professional learning opportunities that develop and support career development are available in consultation with the Associate Chief Executive: Teaching and Learning throughout the year. A meeting for all staff is held once per term that is tailored to be informative, practical and collaborative in nature.
</p><p><b>Reporting Line: </b>This role reports directly to the Associate Chief Executive: Teaching and Learning. All positions are overseen by the Chief Executive and the Chief Operating Officer.
